Median income for female S&P500 CEOs 13% more than men
WestCoastRunner replied to cybercoma's topic in Sex and Gender Issues
It's a huge challenge when women are not enrolling in technology, sciences, engineering. These are the sectors where women can expect to earn higher wages. Female students at a younger age need female role models and mentors who are already working in these fields. My concern is that at the elementary and senior years the girls aren't being encouraged enough to pursue these occupations -
McMaster University Increase Female Faculty's Pay

Do your own research. You seem to be pretty good at and it seems you have the time. If you don't agree with their actions tells us why. -
One of my big issues with this forum is that with the invisibility option, I don't know who is lurking and who is paying attention. It leaves me feeling vulnerable and like someone waiting to be pounced on from a lurking member. When I post, I like to see who is on board, who is paying attention and who is just lurking and waiting to troll. I understand the member who is not signed in and wants to respond later but this invisibility feature just encourages the troll.

Not sure what your point is there? So what? -
Female faculty at McMaster University will be getting a raise after a two-year study showed differences in salary between the sexes at the Hamilton school. The analysis found that women faculty members earned on average $3,515 less than their male counterparts in 2012 and 2013 – even after adjustments were made based on seniority, tenure, faculty and age. This discrepancy has also been addressed at UBC University a few years ago. What I would like to see is that this applies to all working sectors across Canada, not just universities.

You are talking about protests organized by folks who expect to be treated with respect. That is clearly not going to happen in Baltimore given the history of the police dept. you are expecting a pipe dream big guy. There are far more dynamics at play here than simply assembling a peaceful parade.

This is a new forum and many folks have issues with the startup of this forum, but for you to attempt to practice censorship does not bode well. -

Charles, These are posts that you determine are garbage and personal attacks. How do you determine who deviates 1 iota and has to take a vacation. This is one of the major issues I have here. Do you determine who deviates? And where are the standards posted! -

I don't care if someone is right, left, upside down or any other position Clearly opportunities are given or not depending on race, religion, gender etc. it's simply ludicrous to think that one policy fits all. Of course you need to identify -

North American's presidential hopeful Hillary, came out swinging during a speech in New York on Thursday night in which she expanded her personal doctrine – “women’s rights are human rights” – to the plight of mothers, fast food workers, immigrants, retirees, students, gay and transgender people and victims of sexual abuse. I get that Hillary has an agenda with american female voters http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/apr/24/hillary-clinton-rouses-womens-summit-with-first-big-speech-of-presidential-run but seriously, where do the republican men stand up for women's rights.

I know how websites work. I have worked in the IT industry for a very long time. Check out the status of bc and others. They are private members. You never see them at the bottom of the page. I can't believe you haven't noticed this before. Oh well.Let's dispel this and have our moderators add feedback. I will take their feedback for the truth.

So basically bc can be signed in all day and contribute but we have no idea he is lurking.I just think that adding more transparency for when members can become invisible and why that is a necessity and what are the benefits to the member and to the forum at large? It seems like a multi layer membership to me and I'd like to know the advantages to this if I were to continue posting to this forum?

We have members that can contribute to threads but we don't know they are signed in or viewing. They are invisible. They don't have to show up at the bottom of members signed in.
