You are a long term member so you like the status quo. Understood.

It does get tiresome though to read run on narratives with no factual basis. It doesn't inspire many to respond and it does nothing to add to the quality and integrity of this forum. I'm just trying to think of ways to improve the quality of the posts. I know we have long term members here and they are quick to point that out and they also know that they can get away with baseless posts.

Yes. I have told an old bf who constantly complained about his dissatisfaction to instead redirect his passion to running for something! Quit the complaints and do something about it!

I do think that not everyone thought of the ramifications of this hack.

When I first joined here I saw an exorbitant request for cites that seemed a bit unrealistic. But now I am seeing many posts that are simply just opinions being expressed as facts. I get that we need posts that are expressed with personal thoughts and opinions but shouldnt they also need to backed up with cites? Has this message board turned a blind eye to cites or is it on the onus of posters to ask for cites. It just seems ridiculous to read some of these posts that have no factual basis and just turn into run on narratives of personal opinions. It seems a waste of time to read posts that are not factual in content and serves to turn off members from posting.

This was exactly my point. Why do we feel it's ok to bring out the popcorn and amuse ourselves? This story has far reaching impact on families that will inevitably suffer in the public eye. We should be ashamed that we are indulging in this exploitation.

And when these concerns flair up he does tone it down for a day or two so there is that.

If you don't agree with any political party why not do something about. Run for political office or encourage someone else to run.

And good for you. Cast no stones.

My point is that you know not much about the immigration policy of Canada or the impact and you rely on other members opinions that could be full of holes.

Calling someone homophobic raises the self-awareness of that person to reflect on their thoughts, don't you think? 'Homophobic' or 'Racist' is simply a label. It may be derogatory in your mind but it may be accepting for someone who actually is 'homophobic'.
