  1. More to the point... public political discussion has been debased to the level of celebrity chatter. "I don't LIKE the royals" says the teenager as he sucks on a vape... and when he votes that will be the criteria he uses - eschewing any kind of analysis of economic, traditional, political or cultural costs/benefits. These are the adults of today (and I used a 'figurative' not a literal teenager in my example). And this is why I call myself a conservative. Conservative traditions and values allow for acknowledgment of trade-offs, sacrifice, and the value of our traditions. "I don't like Trudeau" "I don't like the Queen" "I don't like socialists" "I don't like racists" turns serious discussion into consumer choice, where every difficult decision becomes the Pepsi challenge. We can't take the vote away from these people, so we should insulate them into their own hives and seal them off.

  2. Sure. On the other hand, she doesn't really have any power. She's just a head of state who does ceremony stuff from time to time and the little power she does has is vested in the GG. Xi Jinping is a dictator with tight control over any citizen if he so chooses. I could take her or leave her, but until then I am loyal because the Crown is a symbol of the state itself.

  3. Was listening to the latest Lincoln Project Podcast. We all know this isn't about overturning the election. It's about fundraising. And Trump will need it. He faces a litany of both criminal and civil cases once he leaves office and doesn't have the DOJ protecting him. And a blanket pardon won't protect him against his New York legal troubles. Trump sees these sycophants as a reliable marketing audience. They'll fund his lifestyle going forward. It doesn't matter if their quarrels aren't based in reality. The loser here, will be the Republican Party. Unless the GOP at large follows Trumpers down this rabbit hole, they'll lose a large faction of voters. We've seen what happens to any GOP politician that doesn't play ball with Trump's narrative, they face threats and are publicly criticized.

  4. Still no consequential court wins? Got a week before the EC meets. Tick tok, tick tok. All these anecdotal videos and testimonies mean nothing if they can't be proven in court.

  5. "Ballot harvesting involves paternalistic white people entering black neighborhoods and compelling political decisions because they think they know better. It is the most systemically racist thing presently being done in America. "

  6. I agree. But I also wonder sometimes, as an outsider of course, if those chiefs care as little about you as they care about her. What is your opinion?

  7. Patriots had a good day. Trump rallied the troops in Georgia and Antifa got the crap kicked out of them again - this time by American flags:

  10. I'm unable to watch the video, but I have always agreed with this essential premise of your presence here. I attribute our attitudes in this front to a kind of jealousy of our neighbours, and an unnecessary one. We can be whatever we like, but we can't be post nationalist and also 'NotAmerikkan'. That's a kind of a nationalist identity and a negative one. Surely a country that finds ways to work with Cuba, Haiti, China and Saudi Arabia could show a little more accommodation for our half-brother in the south.
