I have to post this one from Tucker Carlson because it has lots of good footage but also a line that's a classic. "Some Democrats have openly embraced what's happening...really they don't have much of a choice. These are their voters cleaning out the rolex store. These riots effectively are the largest Joe Biden for President rally on record."2 points

His monologue was amazing! He took shots at every politician, even Trump.1 point

No you have been expressing subjective opinions not facts. The only fact is you do not know the difference between your own subjective opinions and facts. You have tried to deflect the incident by blaming protestors, denying prolonged pressure to a neck could and would kill someone, trying to deflect to denying racism exists. You are so caught up in your need to defend yourself and your denial of racism you are willing to deny basic facts.1 point

And of course then there's the money. Trudeau Jr's government has borrowed hundreds of billions to fund his strategy of throwing money at any group that bleats for it during this 'crisis'. I have not heard one single report by Canadian media mentioning this, or calling it anything but "new funding". Nor has any Canadian media done so much as add up the various programs and given the number of total debt the Liberals have spent on Covid. That's because the Canadian Media, by and large, like Trudeau, so they are downplaying anything that might hurt him. It's kind of disgusting that our media, which is supposed to be a watch dog for the public good are instead of working as a propaganda arm for the Liberals. When the second wave hits in the fall, is Trudeau going to give the reigns of the country to the medial moms again(all of the head medical appointees seem to be women, another odd, sexist strategy) and allow the country to be shut down? If he does, we'll probably approach a trillion bucks of Covid debt, which will eat up tax dollars just to service the debt. I've never heard of an economy that's been shut down twice and come roaring back as if nothing happened, it's just not reality. If they kill the golden goose, and the economy stutters long term because of it, they'll probably just borrow more until our credit rating is shredded. As soon as interest rates go up, it'll be fun times. One Canadian report was that 471 billion has been borrowed so far. When an actual crisis does hit Canada, like flooding or some other natural disaster, there will be no credit left to borrow with. THEN, Canadians will wake up and throw the bums out, after all the damage has been done.1 point

It's just another example of feelings over reality and facts. It's all the left cares about. It's how they make policy. Not on actual data, not on reality, but how they feel about things. They're all 14 year old girls now.1 point

Yep. Trump Derangement Syndrome is very real, and destroys people's lives.1 point

Indeed...."black Americans" are not a monolithic block that universally thinks cops hate them. In many "black communities", the need and demand for good police services and law enforcement is even higher. The Black Panther Party tried this tactic back in the turbulent 1960's and early 1970's....but ultimately lost black support. "Kill the Pigs" will only get you so far.1 point

Oh man conspiracies. Proud Conservative I really used to get annoyed with you until I realize your really believe what you write so as much as I disagree with you I respect you. I think with due respect its distorted by something else but let's respond to it directly. Proud-when we see things that are full of chaos and they make no logical sense we do something. We engage in what is called apophenia. We all do it. Our brain takes all the random info coming in at it and tries to make sense out of it. It creates patterns where none may actually exist. So let me put it this way, you could be seeing incompetence and your brain turns it into logical order. Let me put it this way: there are dirty wet markets. They create a virus. Then this absolutely large, inept government tries to cover it up. They fail. They panic. The damn thing spreads and they try cover it up because if the people realize just how inept they are they might realize how useless they are and revolt against them. The virus spreads. Many other governments with equally as useless government bureaucrats get caught. The disease keeps spreading. You can't possibly imagine its just the nature of government, that government whether its Chinese, European, Canadian, its made up of people like you and me sitting at desks. Each one of us at these desks gets fragmented and disjointed pieces of information. We work in layers of redundant layers of the same function often working at cross purposes to one another. We cause stupidity and mishandle things. Maybe just maybe what you see is not complex organized thought that goes into conspiracy planning, just stupid people. Yah we are stupid. I worked in two governments. I am telling you I was stupid and still am. No conspiracy. Just stupid. Basic shit we screwed up on. We took the most simple things and screwed them up. Let me say this to you, After Sars all governments knew they had to once and for all create early warning systems to test contagious illnesses. Most had the plans in place. Instead of spending money on those early warning systems our governments took the money and spent it on other stuff to get them re-elected-feel good stuff. Its what politicians do. They don't spend their money on essential services. Its not sexy. Its long term and no one sees immediate benefits so it doesn't get them re-elected. Politicians want to get re-elected so they spend the money instead on useless feel good shit. For example look how fast after the tragedy in Nova Scotia Trudeau was up posing as a saviour of all of Canada against guns. After months of screwing up on Covid, his handlers saw it as an opportunity to pass a law no one wanted and to restore his image as a decisive leader-so presto he's banning 1,500 rifles with no plan thought out to how other rifles good easily be recalibrated to the same rifles he thought he is banning. No thought to the fact that his banning will not stop the smuggling in of hand guns which are the no.1 source of wrongful deaths. No thought to how handguns that kill are in the hands of people illegally. He focused all his energy on law abiding gun owners. He did throw token amounts of money for a few ammunition sniffing dogs at the border and an unspecified program to look into gun smuggling. Really? You think with a border the length of ours where the same Trudeau created a precedent to allow illegals to walk across this border addresses the issue of security on our borders. Its such a long and never ending border its not possible to prevent smuggling of drugs and guns and people. However look what he did. Use a tragedy to pose himself and look good. Dr. Tam his health expert was wrong about everything she said. Repeatedly. No one with any right mind can imagine why she is still there. But there she is making speeches that mean very little. The world you live in is internet where messages come to you asap. That immediacy distorts what you see making it look bigger than it is and more urgent than it is. Covid is real...but we reacted to it based on the media which presented it in an hysterical way. The lock down the responses by government, those were genuine people trying to prevent other people getting ill. They reacted as they did because they screwed up and are still trying to cover their butt. You really think getting angry on the streets will help that? What it will do is give your government the ideal excuse to shut you up and cover their stupidity up. If you really care, be calm. Use educated reasoning. Challenge peacefully. Use logic. Use data and facts based on objective methodology not feelings to make your arguments. Your inept government can handle that. If you are not violent and rational, your opposition can be a valuable tool to change things. Its only when it becomes violent it turns people off. One last example, people rioting in the US has only served to cause police to react with more physical brutality. However in Portland, Oregon something powerful happened. The people protested peacefully. The police sent out knowing they were being peaceful...didn't beat them and tear gas them, they kneeled down with them to show solidarity. Sometimes the very enemy you need to connect to..to put out a fire. Martin Luther King was a man who preached that. He said to blacks and everyone else, reach out in turmoil to your very enemy and make him an ally and that is what he did. He turned his supporters into a coalition of every colour, religon, etc. and that is what made his ability to try change things work. Oh yah of course he was killed but his cause and what he did was so big at that point the dummies who killed him could not stop it. Now it looks like what he tried to do failed. It has not. The crap you see its part of the ending of that process. Its the final line of resistance. When a cop does such bad shit, it forces police all over to say no more we can't allow it. They will. It sometimes takes absolute tragedy to change things. That is what covid and the death of that man will do. It will be slow. It won't be quick, but its happening. Question, challenge, but understand, burning shit down doesn't help it hinders.1 point

A majority of polled American voters support using the military to get violent protests and rioting under control. https://www.forbes.com/sites/nicholasreimann/2020/06/02/58-of-voters-support-using-military-to-help-police-control-protests-poll-finds/#6b5cd5b524171 point

The glee is conveniently from people who don’t have to worry about their property being destroyed. I think all of these people need to set their cars on fire today in solidarity for the actions they approve of and champion. Otherwise they’re complete and utter hypocrites. Like usual.1 point

It's nice that you think the whole US is brought "to a standstill" by these riots. A few city blocks in the downtown cores of cities. Your evident glee at seeing wanton destruction of civility is duly noted. Once again Just because the media plasters big and awesome images of buildings on fire, and people cheering, that gets you to believe it is everywhere. The nation is on fire. Yup. You are utterly mesmerized by the media. You don't have to tell me anything.1 point

Not at all. Conspiracy suggests some kind of secret. They don’t even hide it anymore. They don’t even try. It’s why an unarmed white man can be choked to death by police with nary a peep from anyone. But the world has to end when it happens to somebody with a darker complexion. It’s knee jerk assertions of racism, like progressive Pavlov’s dogs. They can’t even contemplate for even a second that it could be something else. That’s prejudice of a different kind. You know, pre-judging.1 point

I love how you guys always feel like you're in the middle of the unfolding of some master conspiracy. As it was pointed out in the Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy though everyone gets that. In any case given the backdrop the timing for a galvanizing event was spot on, never has there been a more graphic example of how closely associated collapse is with fiddling.1 point

Rex Murphy injecting just a bit of sanity into the pompous virtue signalling of our Canada-hating Liberals. Rex Murphy: Canada is not a racist country, despite what the Liberals say To any fair mind, Canada is a mature, welcoming, open-minded and generous country. It would be helpful if these Liberals kept the full story of this country in mind when discussing racism https://nationalpost.com/opinion/rex-murphy-canada-is-not-a-racist-country-despite-what-the-liberals-say1 point

Liberal voters are just people who are easily led around by their emotions. Logic doesn't factor heavily into their thought process. Some people didn't see the logic of how bad the direction from Trudeau/Tam/the WHO really was at the onset, so when they look back on it with the benefit of hindsight they think it was a reasonable course of action to take at the time. They reacted to Trudeau's emotion about how "racist" a travel ban is and that's all they really care about. The emotional reaction to the gun ban is obvious. No matter what happens with guns, it's emotional. The true facts of the case just fall on deaf ears when you are competing with the shriek of "GUNS JUST KILL PEOPLE!!!!". Honestly, I'm starting to see Lib/Dem voters becoming so completely programmed by the MSM that it's at the point where they can be told absolutely any blatant lie and they'll believe it. I've gone from the point where, as a younger person I would have risked my life to protect this country to now, where if someone comes to take over I'd be really tempted to just join them.1 point

They see him every single day speaking calmly and giving out billions of dollars to every group in sight. The media is very liberal-friendly, and hardly ever is a discouraging word heard from them, especially the CBC. Meanwhile, where are the conservatives? Scheer is widely unpopular and on his way out, and can hardly ever get any screen time. Nor does he have much of interest to say when he does. There is no house of commons. Asking questions over a video conference system is supremely unexciting for the media, and it lacks the sense of office and gravitas that standing in the House does. And too many Canadians only know we're doing better than the Americans. That seems enough, whether it's on health care or pandemics, crime or poverty or leadership.1 point

They were waiting for an incident like this to happen and used it to trip the switch. Get the people outraged to the point they are furious. It was just a matter of time before the next black person got killed on video.1 point

What really gets me fired up, like a red neck on payday, is the liberals that blindly support Justin and band of liars and crack pots, will not see just how badly this crises , or should I say what a cluster F*** this really is. A recent poll has said the majority of Canadians believe that Justin handled this crises like a champ, I mean either we are such a stupid people, or we really are plugged into that liberal propaganda machine and believe everything that comes out of it... I use the ban on guns as a prime example, nobody has the time or wants to put in the effort to just google that shit, to see if what they are being feed is true or not...and even when presented with the truth or facts they still refuse to change the channel, JUSTIN told me it's true, I don't want to hear the truth it hurts.... I really hope these new Conservatives have a brand new plan to set this country back on track...so far I'm not really sure if the present candidates are up to the task...1 point

How Canada bungled its response to Covid-19. And continues to bungle it. In Macleans of all places. It's not often you see such criticism of the Liberals in Macleans. But it's well-deserved. As is the criticism of Ontario and Quebec. They have both screwed up royally, and have continued to do so. They were unprepared and haven't learned from their lack of preparedness. Nor have they learned much from other countries who have gotten the disease under control. Nor is there any indication things are getting better. Our progress on “bending the curve” is halting and unimpressive compared to Europe and Asia. Our testing is so broken down that it lags behind Rwanda’s and Ethiopia’s. Our epidemiological data is so inadequate that even if we wanted to conduct the endgame well, often we cannot. Places like Toronto and Quebec are reopening too soon, risking to sicken—and kill—people needlessly, while the Maritimes and Prairies are reopening too slowly, strangling the economy. Simply put, Canada is bungling its most significant peacetime crisis in a century. That is why I am writing this sequel not just as a health scientist, but also as a constitutional lawyer—because the seeds of our failure are everywhere. Instead of the successful nosedive in France, Germany, Spain, or Switzerland—a feat their governments achieved despite a faster climb and higher peak—Canada’s curve resembles an undulating plateau or bunny ski hill. By May 25, Canada was in the same place as April 4—fully seven wasted weeks, littered with thousands of dead. https://www.macleans.ca/society/health/how-canada-has-bungled-the-covid-19-endgame/1 point

It's another creative analogy (I have read many from Canada over the years), but it happens regardless of who may be the U.S. president...going back decades. I agree that the cross border psyche and media believes that the U.S. has real and imagined influence over Canada, even as Ottawa roars about sovereign independence. And it has gotten worse as Canada ingests even more American political media and culture...by choice. Statistically, you are far more likely to have an incident/accident with your fellow passenger car drivers...better watch them too. It's not the size of the truck...it is the size of what Canada wants from inside the truck. Mexico is less obsessed with Trump...but like Canada, also wants what is inside the truck.1 point

This happens after a military member dies while on duty, opposition parties and selected media outlets do a story, just how old our military equipment is , people read it gasp say holy shit I did not know...then turn the page like nothing happened.... well here is another one of those stories, a similar story broke , the last snowbird crash, investigation found that the aircraft was to old and should be replaced, they were looking at running a purchasing program....but like everything else it was stuff aside for something else....today the Tudor aircraft is 57 years old bought when Diefenbaker was PM...anyone remember that guy.....parts for these aircraft are taken off old aircraft in storage, or made from scratch.... these aircraft are scheduled to fly for more years than we would like.... It is cheaper to bury soldiers than it is to buy new equipment.... how cheap do we have to be to put one of our own citizens lives in danger so we can save a few bucks... It's time to put these issues to the forefront, and on the election ballet, but they won't we will continue to bury our troops and act like we are all good with those decisions.... It must be a source of pride for a lot of you.... https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/world/commentary-snowbirds-face-an-uncertain-future-with-aging-planes-dwindling-budgets/ar-BB14j6gf?ocid=spartanntp1 point

I think Moonlight has hit the nail on the head, it is a sign of distress and our nation is in distress, with a long road ahead of it before becoming once again normal as we once knew normal .. I think you would have gotten a different response had they been burning the flag, walking on it, or showing disrespect to it. And while it may be personal own it still represents our nations flag and should be shown respect at all times.. there are NO laws that protect the flag, from any of the above there is however a government etiquette on flags which state it should be treated with respect but not enforced by law.... That being said burning , spitting , or stomping on the Canadian flag is a good way to instigate a fight...Do it on a military base, and see what happens, you should phone 911 before hand, call for the police and an ambulance.... The national flag is how we honor our dead with, it drapes each and every coffin that comes home, that same flag is presented to the widow as a sign of respect for the sacrifice their spouse has given the country...you might be able to get away with spitting , stomping, a soldier, but not doing the same to the flag...thats the line you should not cross...1 point
