Right ... you aren't one for supporting your arguments, I momentarily forgot. Basically not worth paying attention to.3 points

I love this nation as much as anyone can, but I will not forget how this same nation treats it members of DND, or for that matter any security dept....having to sue the government in court to get basic medical benefits / workman comp benefits that every other Canadian already has....why does a double amputee have to prove to the government every year that his legs have not grown back....why do we have to wait 1 year or more to see a mental health expert.....this is not the only case there is thousands out there...And then you stand up and accuse one of it's former members of being nothing more than a dirty treacherous merc because he is bitter of the way Canada and it's citizens have treated him....excuse him for not smiling when you bend him over slap some sand on his ass and tell him , he may feel a little pinch... Your a real classy guy.... Canadian soldiers are asking for the same thing you already have...and yet we are told at ever corner...NO, or my favorite, I pay you , so STFU you knew what you were getting into before you joined up.... What gives you the right to judge anyone, let alone a soldier , because you pay taxes....we all pay taxes...is it because you've served, you hold some elite position some where....do you have holes in your hands and feet, maybe sit on a throne some where...1 point

After AOC compared border detention areas to concentration camps, she received invitations to visit real concentration camps. One of which came from the Polish Parliament, the second from a Holocaust survivor group who nominated her for a ‘Nobel’ in Stupidity.1 point

Patently false....Trump's ATF banned bump-fire stocks while Obama's ATF approved them....twice. Try again....but I do appreciate your begging for BC2004 attention. Also the most number of immigrants from around the world...they must love the "shitty" in the U.S. more than the "shitty" in Canada, even with Trump:1 point

As has been asked today, when ICE is rounding up migrants who work in meat factories, are the owners being arrested? You'd think their culpability would be considerably greater. Such action against employers would have an immediate effect on illegal immigration but has been conspicuous by its rarity.1 point

In regards to China's place in the world in terms of food production and export, it is the world's no. 1 producer simply because of the amount of mouths it feeds. I stated it is no.2 in food production to the world and might soon replace the US. If burning continues in California at the rate it has this will be a fact as California has traditionally been the no.1 food source for the world but has been severely damaged by fires. That said I am willing to accept China is the no.4 world food exporter at this time behind Germany and the UK based on the info below but would caution-certain food made in China if relabelled in the US, Germany, UK, Canada, is then allowed to be defined as American, German, British, etc., which distorts the numbers and is not adequately reflected in calling it the no.4 producer. That however is not the issue I was addressing but I answered it for Boges. https://agfundernews.com/china-will-produce-4-of-top-10-global-food-companies-by-2027-says-leading-food-investor.html http://www.fao.org/china/fao-in-china/china-at-a-glance/en/ http://www.fao.org/china/fao-in-china/china-at-a-glance/en/ The issue is whether detention centres on the US Mexican borders should be equated to Nazi concentration camps used in WW2. I stated this was irresponsible and state it is as irresponsible as Trump calling all Latinos drug pushers or thieves. It is extremist rhetoric. Here is the trendy leftist rhetoric that justifies calling detention centres concentration camps and using the reference Boges did about Auschwitz being trademarked: https://www.mcsweeneys.net/articles/these-detention-centers-arent-concentration-camps-because-technically-auschwitz-is-trademarked I am well aware of it. First we argue there were concentration camps before WW2. Of course there were. Then we have those who liken the detention camps (internment camps) of Japanese, Italians and Germans in Canada in WW2 as being concentration camps. Then we have those who equate how Canada treated and treats our aboriginals as no different than Nazis and how Israel treats Palestinians as being no different than the Nazis and in all these cases equating what leftists see as injustice and camps as no different than what happened in the camps during the holocaust. I argue this does actual disservice to the actual state of affairs in detention centres, lumps them all into one simplistic category and in so doing trivializes the differences and the specific differences in camps used to exterminate or forcefully work people to death. No one but no one in detention centres is being gassed, forced to work until they die, lined up and shot and thrown in lime pits, being starved to death, being experimented on and so to equate their treatment to the holocaust is bullshit.1 point

Using the term concentration camp is dangerous rhetoric and irresponsible. It could also lead to violence.1 point

Trump did not create the migration issue. It started long before he was born. The fact us Latinons from South, Central Anmerica and Mexico for many years were used as cheap illegal labour to puck tobacco, lettuce, vegetables, fruit. cotton, work making clothes or in factories for less than mnimum wage seasonally. The US economy grew rich on it. Then the world markets shifted and clothing and textiles moved to even cheaper labour in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Bangladesh, China. A lot of California agricultural production is burned away and China is slowly replacing the US and California as the no.1 vegetable and fruit exporter. So the US now has no jobs for Latinos. That is all this is. Certainly Americans caught up in Trump's rhetoric have not a clue that the jobs these Latinos held were jobs no Americans wanted and now are not needed. So now they serve as a convenient scapegoat to piss on to get TRump relected because his message is based on hate and division and Americans love it, they embrace it. They love the rhetoric of us against them, and spectres being raised as to dirty job stealing terrorist immigrants. All that said, the issue of what to do with poor, unemployed labourers with no skills, trying to get to the US because of failed social nets in their own Latin nations is not addressed by calling Trump a Nazi. It may make some armchair Liberals feel less guilty about themselves and their privileged lives but it won't change a damn thing. Movements of unemployed migrants are happening world wide spurred by weather changes, a transfer from manual to technological labour requiring more specialized education and lack of water. Those issues are exasperated by civil wars and governments but will Boges talk about the nations where these migrants come from and where their nations have failed? Hell no. That would require some effort. Trotting out Trump is a Nazi is far easier.1 point

It is absolutely bullshit to compare detention camps at the border to Nazi concentration camps. You do this because you show absolute ignorance as to what concentration camps are and in so doing trivialize the holocaust. No one is being gassed. No one is being tortured. You want to use trendy leftiost shrill rhetoric really? You think it makes you any less extreme than Trump?1 point

Since you mentioned you are not a gun enthusiast and are obviously ignorant about the subject...a semi-automatic is not a machine gun. "Machine guns" or automatic weapons are prohibited and illegal in Canada and always have been. Also, most people don't hunt deer with a shotgun, and it's inhumane and illegal to shoot a deer with bird shot (shotgun bullets??) You obviously do not have enough knowledge about hunting or proper use of guns to even form a cogent opinion, you certainly have no right demanding an arbitrary ban on something you know nothing about. Educate yourself then maybe you'll be taken seriously.1 point

The author here, Angelo M. Codevilla is an Italian-US professor emeritus of international relations at what is now the Pardee School of Global Studies at BostonUniversity. He sums it up pretty well here https://amgreatness.com/2019/08/06/igniting-civil-war/ excerpted: The story of the contemporary American Left’s sponsorship of hate and violence begins around 1964, when the Democratic Party chose to abandon the Southern constituencies that had been its mainstay since the time of Jefferson and Jackson. In less than a decade, the party found itself increasingly dependent on gaining super-majorities among blacks, upscale liberals, and constituencies of resentment in general—and hence on stoking their hate. For the past half century, America’s political history has been driven by the Democratic Party’s effort to fire up these constituencies by denigrating the rest of America. As elements of cynical calculation melded into self-images of righteous entitlement to rule inferiors, the boundaries between the party and the constituencies’ most radical parts have eroded.1 point

There's only one civilization and it would be annihilated if the two engaged in a nuclear war. That's scary.1 point

Civilians in Canada cannot carry handguns or assault weapons now (whatever an “assault weapon” even is, as Canada has no definition of such thing). Obtaining a civilian carry permit or licence in Canada is not possible. Canadians can own restricted firearms provided they are properly licencesd and thoroughly trained. What protections?? You mean, in addition to the exhaustive protections in place currently? Canada already has a myriad of laws, rules, and restrictions to handle such crimes. Criminals won’t give up their guns regardless of how many rules or bans there are. And I find it interesting, though confusing that you seem to fear innocent people who want to protect themselves but don't seem to be focused on the criminals who aren't registering their handguns or obtaining the proper licence. Again, what is an assault rifle...is it a semi-auto centre fire rifle like thousands of hunters use currently to hunt? Is it black gun? Restrictions and screening of restricted weapons are already severe, and monitoring and control of both the weapons and the owners is strict. Of course you are comfortable with a ban, you obviously don’t own handguns so it wouldn’t affect you. It’s so easy to agree to taking other people’s possessions and rights away, no problem…right? Canadians are among the most regulated and scrutinized firearms owners in the world. In order to obtain a firearm in Canada, restricted or otherwise, a person needs to first apply for a licence which involves taking a Firearms Safety Course which covers basic safety practices, operation and firing techniques, and how to safely handle, store, display and transport guns. Licence applicants have to pass multiple tests to complete the Safety Course. Once that’s out of the way, an applicant is subjected to a thorough background check, which includes personal reference checks and a variety of background checks… in some cases, in-depth investigations. Applicants must also provide information on their mental health, employment and marital status. Based on that information, the Chief Firearms Officer may decide to interview the applicant, their references or, with the applicant's consent, their doctor. Once you get a licence, you are subject to continuous screening for criminal behaviour. People getting a licence for the first time must also undergo a minimum 28-day waiting period. I'm not sure how much more strict our current possession laws would have to be to make you feel comfortable. Maybe the problem isn't target shooters and collectors, maybe instead of taking away the possessions and freedoms of innocent law abiding citizens, or bringing in more even laws than we already have, we could focus more on the people who are breaking the laws. It is quite telling that the federal government doesn’t keep track of people who have been banned from owning guns as closely as it keeps track of ordinary duck hunters and target shooters. Of course, this isn't about Liberals wanting to make the public safer, it's obviously about keeping people fearful and exploiting those fears for votes.1 point
