Doug Ford. . . has gone out of his way to make Toronto's City Council more efficient. He's only pissing off people that would have never voted for him in the first place. DoFo's government is doing a pretty good job so far IMHO. What's going to happen is that any attempt at trying to chip away at Ontario's deficit will be met by sky is falling moans from the entitlement class.2 points

You are charging someone with making false allegations. Aren't they innocent until proven guilty?1 point

Actually, it increases opportunities for workers and protects their constitutional rights. They can still join a union if they wish.1 point

We never had a barbaric culture as barbaric as that taught by the Koran. Nobody ever had their hand cut off for thievery here, and nobody was ever executed for blasphemy or trying to leave their Christian religion. Nor was anyone ever executed for adultery or homosexuality. Muslims were 3.2% of the population in 2011. It's 2018. Since the Muslim population has been essentially doubling about every 7-10 years, they're probably up past 6% now. 1971 - too few to mention 1981 - 98,165 1991 - 253,260 2001 - 580,000 2011 - 1,053,945 2021 - 2,000,000? (note, even without natural births our present intake of Muslims through immigration/refugees is about 100,000 per year.)1 point

1.) You continue to be ridiculous. Please copy and paste the entry in which you content that I actually said this. I pointed out that the situation you cite "is so exceptional as to render your argument ridiculous" and I note that in my considerable experience, growing up a Catholic and attending Catholic schools, I'd never encountered a nun who covered her face. And I challenged you to indicate that you'd ever seen a nun wearing facial covering. The reality is that the one media citation you provide serves at best as an "exception that proves a rule." Perhaps you might brush up on rhetorical logic. 2.) Again, it's an exception that proves a rule. As I said, the example is so unique and rare as to establish the case that facial covering is not a general characteristic of the attire worn by nuns. 3.) Clearly you did lose. I challenge you to leave your home today, locate a nun wearing facial covering and take a picture of her and then return and post it under this topic. You might want to take a winter coat with you, though, as well as changes of clothing for all the other seasons as you likely won't return home for a very, very long time. But, in order to make the rules here realistic, I'll give you 48 hours to post such a picture that also includes details on the location of the photo as well as its time and date. If you can't do so, you'll concede your loss in this debate.1 point

I would suggest he get a sex change. She'll be hired immediately.1 point

I did not get into the societal causes for any improper behaviour. I simply noted that this behaviour is a matter of statistical record in the US. It is similar in Canada, as far as I'm aware, though of course that's not the kind of thing the government dares to put out statistics on. There's been considerable written about the black high school dropout rate in Toronto, though, and the gang problem there, and violence in Black neighbourhoods. So suggesting it's wrong for blacks to be suspended or expelled in greater numbers than whites because they're 'disadvantaged' simply makes no sense. Keeping disruptive students in class harms the educational prospects of everyone else.1 point

We are only hearing about Freelands alleged sticking to a feminist negotiating agenda from some Canadians. Not a peep about it from Americans. Why is that?1 point

He's missing the point too, it's not a linear relationship vs. population. There is a bare minimum number of councillors needed, below which you cannot run a small town.1 point

1. I disagree. We have far fewer natural disasters. This relates primarily to the location of hurricanes, which occur closer to the tropics. Violent crime has come up at different times, but overall our average rates are much lower than in the U.S., especially related to homicides. Staggeringly different actually. Our minimum wages, unemployment insurance, health system, maternity leave, child tax credits, full day kindergarten from JK (in some jurisdictions), the list goes on, are more generous on the most part. 2. I'm not denying that the U.S. has a higher profile and is more of a draw internationally, but among the educated citizenry of developed countries, the U.S. has mixed reviews, depending, as mentioned, on which cities, states, and industries are referenced. The reality is that workers are probably looking more at cities/regions than they are at countries, not that national policies aren't important in the decisions of highly skilled/educated migrants.1 point

Many of these positions represent genuine Canadian values, not just Liberal ones, though some of them may go outside the purview of a trade agreement. Canada pushed these positions knowing that the U.S. would whittle them down. Mexico seemed to be manipulated by the U.S., being told they'd get a special deal if they bargained without Canada. What they got was fleeced. The $16.00 minimum wage on a percentage of Mexican auto production is good, but not having a dispute resolution mechanism is a mistake, as is the short sunset clause, which prevents businesses and countries from doing any long-term planning around trade.1 point

It is shocking to read so many comments that denigrate women's rights. Can you honestly say the persuit of equal rights for women is wrong? The same goes for the environment. What kind of an idiot would oppose the protection of the environment?1 point

You can't blame only the Liberals for deficits. The Conservatives drove up the debt with tax cuts and the Liberals drove it up with public spending.1 point

There are a hundred applicants for every one of these jobs, and the only reason there aren't more is because most people know they're largely unattainable. Getting one is a career in itself. And who will be doing them? Who does them in the UK, the US, Australia, France, Germany, etc.?1 point

Prof. Ford needs the extra time to get her story straight and receive lots of coaching from the Democrats. Expect lots of tears and shock...even though she said nothing about the alleged assault before. Republicans may work in a few jabs at Keith Ellison since he is deputy DNC chair. ...then Kavanaugh will still get out of committee for a full Senate vote anyway.1 point

Probably not, sadly. Conservatives don't touch policing. I see them as public servants like anyone else.1 point

What is the difference between a puppy and a liberal? After a few weeks the puppy quits whining. As far as I am concerned Trump is doing a pretty good job but yet liberals in America seem to want to go back to the Obama/Hillary days and keep getting shafted by those two and the democratic party that despises them all and only has contempt for them. A liberal will say: whip me some more for I have sinned. I dared the other day to think for myself. Liberals are nothing more than a bunch of intolerant crybaby and deplorable losers. Sad indeed.1 point

So what's your verdict? Are you saying that since Christianity burned witched before...Islam should be allowed its violence now? Because that's what it seems like...1 point
