  1. I am not arguing against your claim that its harmful. I am arguing against the notion that we, as individuals or a country, have the right or even obligation to determine for these women, what they should or should not wear. If a woman says its her choice to wear it, we should respect that, imo. Calling her extremist or telling her she has no right to be in Canada because of what she is wearing is wrong, imo.

  2. These things a re a joke and lead to bloated federal government and permit regions to continue to be run poorly while not having to adjust their bad policies. EI and CPP are a joke, taxes are too high.

  5. You as usual show your arrogance with sweeping pronouncement and zero evidence to base your comment. Of course the holocaust had a bearing on the creation of modern Israel. The bottom line is numerous historians both Jewish and Gentile have discussed and taken a great detail of time to explain the connection between the holocaust and creation of Israel. The bottom line-you know nothing about this topic and again show an obsessive need to respond to put we Jews in our place. Your need to lecture we Jews as to our history and what we do and did and where we should live continues. https://www.loc.gov/loc/lcib/9807/aronson.html http://www.history.ucsb.edu/projects/holocaust/Research/Proseminar/tomerkleinman.htm http://www.yadvashem.org/odot_pdf/Microsoft Word - 3575.pdf http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/israel-studies-an-anthology-the-holocaust-and-israel http://www.jewish-guide.pl/Tomasz Cebulski-Memory of the Holocaust in Israel.pdf https://www.umass.edu/events/lecture-zionism-holocaust

  6. It's hard to hold a discussion on it with someone who believes wearing harmful, extremist religious garments is exactly the same as someone with an actual medical condition having to cover up to protect themselves.

  7. Iran is a beautiful country with many potentials....Preferably mullah free....This was an ooportunity for Iran in 1953 by appointing Dr Mossadegh. But we all know where that ended up.... Ad the saying goes there are horses for courses. A mullah’s place is in the mosque not politics. Britain realised this by separating the church from politics or let’s say it reached a point that it became secular. The model worked well there. Not a perfect model for democracy but better than many countries in the world including the US.

  8. Really? Did you miss the one who fought for the right to not show her face during the Canadian Citizenship Oath? Pretty sure you didn't. These don't say "flexible" to me. Respect for other cultures is a 2-way street. Fighting to wear it during the Citizenship Oath: Fighting to wear it in courtrooms: Fighting to wear it in classrooms: Fighting to wear it at all times: I'm sure you're aware of the uproar when Bill 94 was introduced, requiring people who wear face coverings in Quebec to remove them if they work in the public sector or do business with government officials. Fighting to wear it when voting:

  9. The government poll shows half of Iranians are against compulsory hijab. https://www.cnn.com/2018/02/05/middleeast/iran-hijab-law-report-intl/index.html A few cautions. 1 - This poll was conducted by the research arm of Islamic government's president not an independent poll. 2 - It was conducted 4 years ago but released now. Iran has been going through a social upheaval since 2010 due to many factors like internet, satellite TVs, social media and large number of universities opened since then with many millions of both gender (majority of university students being women). The actual statistics now and by an independent poll may be significantly higher.

  10. The anthem is stupid to begin with, torturously translated from the French original but with a lot of things outright substituted though unchanged in the French original. It was brought in to please Quebec, which did not like the Maple Leaf Forever, which was then the sort of defacto anthem.
