  1. If I had a nickel for every time someone said that, I would be a multi-millionaire. It seems the Republican voters traded their morals and ambitions for sensible government in order to piss others off. 2008? You mean the year that Harper broke his own election rule and called an early election before his disaster finances became public? The year that Harper first prorogued Parliament for his own partisan reasons. Yes, it does appear that Democrats do have a sense of morals, unlike their Republican counterparts that don't care how many children their candidates sexually assault. I grew up in Quebec, WASP was not the dominant culture here. There were many waves of immigrants, but they were not all WASP. Before the second world war we had a lot from Eastern Europe (Russians, Polish and Ukrainians), Western Europe and Scandinavia. After the second world war we had many from Western Europe (Germany and the Netherlands) and Southern Europe (Italy, Greece, Yugoslavia and Portugal).

  2. They just won the MLS Cup. This makes them the best team in the history of the MLS.

  3. Your view that you are uniquely capable of seeing through to the truth of these idiotic web sites is typical of conspiracy theorists. The fact is we've all seen these stories and laughed them off as absurd and ridiculous. Your web sites don't tell it as it is, but as you want it to be. They have no standards of truth whatsoever and only exist to push their moronic perspective out there and hope as many suckers as possible absorb and believe it.

  4. This is just brainless and stupid. If she was a criminal why has Trump not had her investigated and imprisoned? As for liar - there has never been a politician in history who is as much a compulsive liar as Donald J Trump. He sets new standards every day. I honestly don't think he even knows or cares about what he says. He makes stuff up all the time and just dismisses anyone pointing out it's bullshit as 'fake news'. Which, ironically, is a term coined to describe the pro-Trump and ant-Clinton propaganda his Russian friends put out.

  5. Why haven't you put your gun where your mouth is? And no I don't mean in your mouth.

  6. Sure you have. Tell that one to someone who will believe you.

  7. Ok, let's break down your assessment of the Liberals' strategy. You think they are planning to buy the election by settling lawsuits by disadvantaged groups. I guess that could make sense as a strategy if deployed carefully. I don't think that it is a winning strategy, though, if everything else is ignored. It just won't work. Also you pepper your posts with hyperbolic and hysterical exclamations like this: "MILLIONS of times more than any sane person could ever consider. " ( This means you think the settlement for wronged individuals should have been less by a factor of 2 million or more, which is to say you think the government should have offered them, as a group, $50. ) "If ANY alphabet soup of minorities has been wronged by their employer, it is up to their employer to compensate for their loss, NOT my grandchildren." You missed the point hugely, as the subtitle of the article is "Compensation comes after former federal government employees launched class-action lawsuit". The government WAS their employer, so the government has to compensate them. -- -- -- No harm, no foul, though, on your post. Simply state that you were wrong and we can start our discussion over again.

  8. On one side dwells an ugly apartheid settler colony supported by an even uglier imperial power, and on the other stands the glory of a global defiance against that immoral depravity called “Zionism” — A racist, xenophobic, homophobic, anti-Semitic, Islamophobic, climate change denier, serial sexual predator, real estate charlatan, prompted by his ultra Zionist son-in-law and bankruptcy lawyer, has come out to recognize Jerusalem as “the capital of Israel” — how utterly befitting is that! What an apt and perfect closure to the ignominious thievery of Palestine! Zionists deserve this perfect ending to their history of colonial occupation of another people’s homeland! A cesspool of every moral disease in the world, a despicable bastard, loathed by the world, siding with them and declaring a stolen city their capital! And on the other side stands the world — The world will win. The Zionists will lose. There is an inner rhythm to the arch of justice in this world — imperceptible, quiet, dignified, beautiful — add any other ennobling thought the world celebrates and of which the Zionists are deprived — Resist brothers and sisters in Palestine! You with your glorious presence in the ugly midst of the occupation of your homeland and the world in solid unwavering solidarity—bearing witness to your righteous cause!

  9. Anyone, especially any American, with two brain cells to rub together who listened to Trump's rant in Fla. tonight should be at least worried, if not scared. For instance, "we have the best country in the world, but the system is rigged" and "Hillary supports the system and she lost by millions". And he waved and flailed his arms around to thank "Blacks for Trump". Well, if it's such a rigged system then perhaps he's saying also that his win was rigged. And, Hillary didn't lose by millions, she actually won by 3 million of the popular vote. And, Trump is known for discriminating against Blacks in his housing projects. If you can't see the incredible hypocrisy that this asshole brings to the podium, and I'm sure to the WH, then you have no idea what the word means. I thought the Obama discussion may have been a little over the top, but I'm not so sure after this latest frothy mouthed rant from Trump.

  10. Mitt Romney got more votes than Trump and he lost. So I think what got Trump elected is actually the failure of Hillary Clinton to shore up White Blue Collar voters and keep Obama voters from staying home.

  11. How would you know that it effects me? Now JT getting elected, that deeply effected me. If Wynne wins next June, that'll deeply effect me. I guess it effects me like a sporting event. But it is just entertainment. I can put the same amount of effort trading barbs with you clowns than I can debating if Walking Dead is still a good show or if the Toronto Maple Leafs are Stanley Cup contenders. You seem to be the one taking this deeply personally. Just like you like seeing Liberals lose their minds, I like to see Repubs sacrifice all their moral high ground to defend a President like Trump.

  12. That is hilarious. Trump provides fodder almost daily. You're free to disagree with JT and the Liberals of course, but it's hard not to watch Trump shoot himself in the foot regularly.

  13. Fine. But when taxme says we should stick to other things, it smells of LEAVE TRUMP ALONE!!!!! which is equally as amusing.

  14. I have struggled with this issue for decades. It is the points raised by B-C and Altai that I seem to feel these days is what should determine the outcome. Not only Canada - AND the US exist in their current political form as sovereign states once under the control of an aboriginal population, but so do MANY modern states. While I may not agree with USA/UK simply deciding that Israel should exist in what was clearly Palestine, reality is that is now in the past and needs to be dealt with under the reality that there are two states within one territory, and THEY need to figure out how to co-exist. I think it is reasonable to assume that whatever the current legal makeup of any sovereign state might be, THAT is what should define who/what it is and over what it has authority. Jursalem IS the de-facto capital of Israel today, so then we can move on to the next issue. That would be recognition by the USA. I can not think of too many things pro-Yank that Hezbollah has said or done. In fact, as enthusiastic members of the Iranian framed fundamentalist part of Islam, I believe we can agree they are anti-Western. Israel, on the other hand, has been pretty much consistanly pro-Western. When you consider that they owe their existance mostly the USA and UK, what else could they be?? So, if an American President was to do anything at all regarding a contentious issue (and it certainly IS contentious) what side do you think he would logically come down on? DUH!!!!! As to the timing of when and reasons why Trump has chosen to inflame this situation, I don't pretend to know what goes on behind closed doors inside the Beltway (other than a lot of illicit sex acts, it would seem). I tend to agree, though, that this is one big flip of the bird from Trump to fundamentalist Islam - as that clearly fits the profile.

  15. Sure...thank you for confirming my point above. You want more control over those who not only disagree with you, but in the way they choose to express opposing views. Further, you want moderator(s) to adopt your stance and ultimate solution for such circumstances. That this site's owner is affording the opportunity for private clubs and moderation suggests far more flexibility than rigidity. Also, I have expressed many times that MLW moderation is more about excessive workload and high maintenance for some members/posts. A tangled rat's nest of personal attacks, off topic rants, thread drift, spam, etc. If you make the police come to your house to clean up...they are not bringing milk and cookies.
