  2. I like a lot of this. To me, practical people of the left and right need to start leading versus following. Especially in Canada, where to my my experience most people are practical about our prospects. Social issues like birth control, abortion, divorce haven't changed much I don't think. So I don't expect those areas to be in the arena of discussion of policy. Immigration though, is now an open question. I agree that progressives aren't talking about it enough.
  3. And like the REM in Montreal, it should be the Caisse (and the Ontario Teacher's fund) who pay for this electrified TGV passenger rail between Toronto and Montreal. Why should a person working minimum wage in Halifax or Calgary pay any tax to subsidise anyone traveling between Toronto and Windsor?
  4. At great expense to all Canadians, our federal Liberal government is about to create (buy, expropriate land) a new right of way between Quebec City and Windsor, Ontario. (Note: This TGV will never exist. It is like the roof of the Olympic Stadium in Montreal.) Yet, we Canadians already have such a right of way. At issue, IMHO, we must decide how to use this right of way. -The land of the railtracks between Montreal and Toronto belong to Canadians. Let's expropriate this land from the CN and CP. -Let's build bridges/tunnels to ensure that passenger rail lines in this right of way never cross a road. (At present, there are several hundred.) -Let's electrify these passenger lines between Montreal and Toronto.

  7. Couldn't be worse or more corrupt than it is NOW, with Alito and Thomas getting payoffs from wealthy RepubliCONS. Maybe you don't know about the expensive vacations and the quarter $million motor home that Thomas received from Harlan Crowe among OTHERS. I know FOS LIES never told you about those. LMAO
  8. Like I said, ^NO EVIDENCE from the LYIING CLOWN.
  9. The $1.8B Trump-Blanche slush fund is EVEN MORE corrupt than we knew. VIDEO AKA it now includes a BRIBE for Senators. 🤮

  15. Diefenbaker did it in 1957. Mulroney did it in 1984. Harper did it in 2008. ==== In the past, at some point, the federal Liberals become obviously corrupt. Nowadays, in 2026, I'm not sure.
  16. Herbie did you ask ChatGPT to respond? Or was this a brain fart? ==== 1. Canada is a federal state with two official languages - but no official culture. 2. Look at history, other places: Despite different languages, religions, we Canadians somehow get along.
  17. The FACT that you didn't know that, means you never had a Secret clearance. LMAO
  18. In Montreal, I remember Mirabel.
  19. This is manifested by the Left's fixation on Trump, and to a lesser degree, US patriots. It's all they think about. It seems every story any leftist will post is linked to Trump or MAGA somehow.
  20. This has created debate in Quebec. https://www.journaldemontreal.com/2026/06/13/tgv-et-si-pspp-navait-pas-tort
  21. She'd have at least another 10% if she ran as a lesbian or trans. That guy would have to go trans communist to even have a prayer.
  22. I will set aside this claim about Trump and his family - possibly true. My point is that the PQ and the NDP (like Trump) want us to buy local, to make our place better.
  23. The devil's in the details i guess. I don't know what to think about this. The Liberals tend to like to throw mountains of money at problems so they can say they're doing something and hoping the problem goes away. At some point the money is going to run out...
  24. The good news for Canada is that conflict over multicultural schisms (besides old anglo/ French/ indigenous tensions) have been a lot more intense in countries like the UK, France, and the US. So whatever happens there (good or bad) hopefully we'll be able to learn those lessons and course correct if necessary before they get as bad here as whatever happens there. I think what we need in Canada is a stronger focus on national identity to foster unity where everyone feels like they're on the same team. Putting most of the focus on how we're all different will also deepen tribalism. The left tend to be naive idealists and often don't think through their ideas to their logical conclusions. Actions have consequences that may not be apparent until decades down the line. Birth control, abortion, divorce rights, immigration etc all have their place in society, but progressives rarely if ever have frank discussions on when they might go too far and the negatives that may result. In fact it makes them feel threatened, plus they don't want to give any wind to conservatives who oppose them.

  26. Flag Day 2026 takes place on Sunday, June 14, commemorating the anniversary of the official adoption of the United States flag on June 14, 1777. Although it is a nationally observed holiday, it is not an official federal holiday, meaning businesses and schools remain open on standard schedules. [1, 2, 3] Celebrations around the country include historical events, ceremonies, and displays: [1, 2] White House Events: The White House issued Presidential Proclamations to kick off National Flag Week, alongside special events on the South Lawn. [1, 2] Local Commemorations: Historic venues like the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia host traditional flag-raising ceremonies, historical reenactments, and shared birthday celebrations for the U.S. Army. [1] Flying the Flag: Check local resources like the Flags.com Holiday Calendar or the Flag & Banner Guide to ensure your flag is displayed properly throughout National Flag Week. [1, 2, 3, 4]
