The squeaky-voiced Mickey Mouse lookalike, named Farfur, is the star of a weekly children’s program called Tomorrow’s Pioneers on the official Hamas TV station (Al-Aqsa TV), which broadcasts from Gaza via satellite to the entire Arab world. Farfur and his co-host, a young girl named Saraa’, teach children about such things as the importance of the daily prayers and drinking milk, but also instruct them to hate Israel and the US and support "resistance" – a euphemism for terror.

"using Mickey Mouse to teach resistance is a powerful and effective way to indoctrinate children"

Sure puts the Circle Square Ranch to shame......

Just waitin' for the chorus of these are extremists, moderates wouldn't teach their kids to hate Israel. Only it's beamed to the entire Arab world.

According to some people on here, who never say a word against this type of extremism - its the Christians we have to worry about, although I havn't read of any of them calling for the 'Extermination of Jews' or anyone else.

The whole video and the teaching is disturbing to say the least. We can only hope the moderates stand up against this.

lol!

Yeah, maybe they will turn their back on the show and it will be cancelled because of poor ratings.....

Right, it's better to teach your children to hate off-the-record and behind closed doors, like Israelis do.

Getting your children to sign bombs for Lebanese children is much better. I see so many "moderates" speaking out against that too.

Whole lotta condemnation on this board when both sides teach their kids to hate and both are equally appalling. Which is better, the open KKK member who stands up and declares what he is, or the coward who pretends to like a people and comes to a message board to anonymously declare their disdain?

IMO, both are bad and both are dangerous. Just in different ways.

hey never mind the endless brainwashing aimed at western youth, to kill, kill, kill.

We have movies, glorifying war.

video games, glorifying war,

and how honourable it all is, to die for your country.

But, oops, I forgot, it's always OKYDOKEY, when the west does it!!!!!

indoctrinates and spreads propoganda amongst it's own.

except it is really disgusting when anyone does it!!!!

sigh............................

oh and as for indoctrinating hate, one just has to read here, and the level of indoctrination is pretty clear, amongst some.

Unfortunately rational realistic voices are to few and far between.

Insults are the ammunition of the unintelligent - do not use them. It is okay to criticize a policy, decision, action or comment. Such criticism is part of healthy debate. It is not okay to criticize a person's character or directly insult them, regardless of their position or actions. Derogatory terms such as "loser", "idiot", etc are not permitted unless the context clearly implies that it is not serious. Rule of thumb: Play the ball, not the person (i.e. tackle the argument, not the person making it).

I read about it that one time, and found that the kids where doing at the urging of surrounding journalists. Certainly what they did, and what is taught in Israel has no comparison to the stated aim of their neighbours - you know - that little thing they want to do called genocide.

Only irrational people would support Hamas and their practices.

Welcome to Dizzyland where everything is upside down. Welcome to AK`s R Us where you can purchase an AK47 for your son and welcome to Martyrs Vineyard where you can see your children die for some silly ideals.

Contrast all this with the sad faces on the sad Palestinian victims who suffer with the Israeli brutes.

Is it a Khartoum or Cartoon, only the shadow knows for sure....

Stay tuned while we explain how one looks like a victim while one blows oneself up.

the Israeli children were NOT being urged to anything by journalists, what an absolutely bogus claim, as you well know, they were doing it because that is what they do, it is a form of brainwashing for the kids, it benefits Israel to sow the seeds of hatred, as well as it benefits Hamas

No, I don't well know that, I know that at the time, it was reported that the journalists were urging them.

Israel doesn't come close to the hate and brainwashing of children Hamas. I do know that childrenare residents of Kiryat Shmona, which is right on the border with Lebanon On the day that photo was taken, the girls had emerged from the underground bomb shelters for the first time in five days. A new army unit had just arrived in the town and was preparing to shell the area across the border. The unit attracted the attention of twelve photojournalists - Israeli and foreign. The girls and their families gathered around to check out the big attraction in the small town - foreigners. and so on

They havn't pulled the MM character, http://www.cbn.com/CBNnews/155262.aspx nothing unusual, they have a habit of promising to do it, but when the furor dies down, on they go.

The LA Times was calling on Disney to sue Hamas for its use of Mickey- gee does that mean its okay to teach hatred as long as you don't use our sacred symbols to do it? Hamas didn't do anything of significance it didn't do in the past - or will do in the future. Preaching hatred to kids didn't start with Farfur, nor will it end when he is gone. It will just go back to sneak under the radar screen.

Only reason this got any attention was the blatant Disney piece. The numerous other kid's shows with similar messages, or the kiddie websites telling young Pals their obligation will be to take back Spain, or the music videos recruiting teenage suicide bombers, are still on. In the past they have 'officially' pulled such crap when it attracts wide media attention, then quietly put it back on the air six months or a year later.

Oh yes -- it's also in all the school textbooks

"You and I are laying the foundation for a world led by Islamists," the cartoon character named Farfour squeaked on a recent episode of the show, entitled "Tomorrow's Pioneers."

Getting kids to sign ordance that will be dropped on the heads of the terrorists who have been lobbing rockets at your neighbourhood is better than kids becoming suicide bombers and targeting a falafel hut......

Calling lebanese terrorists children is soooo green helmet.....

Calling Lebanese children terrorists and justifying dropping bombs on them because Hezbollah members kidnap soldiers, is proof that hate is indeed being indoctrinated on both sides.

This is proof of a confused mind.

Confused because you seem to think that the only provocation was the kidnappings. How about the regular rocket attacks on Israeli villages that went on for weeks before Hezbollah raided Israeli territory?

These weren't children attacking civilians, it was Hezbollah. If any Lebanese children were put in danger, they were put in danger by Hezbollah who used them as human shields.

Here's what you said:

So you say it's self-denfese while they say it's their honour and their land that they're fighting for. How ever you get there, both show a complete indifference toward innocent human-life in order to justify a means. Chances are you will also teach your children the same thing.... but to the outsider, the majority of people around the globe last year, for example, who did not share your view that the severity of Israel's reaction was justified, your indifference is what exactly? A manifestation of neighbourly love?

Was Israel's severity justified? I don't know, were Hezbollah's attacks on villages meant to amuse instead of kill civilians?

What kind of muddled lunacy is this? Israel was being attacked almost daily and someone is going to quibble that Israel shouldn't use all of it's power to prevent the attacks? Is there some sort of level of israeli deaths that is acceptable before Israel gets to defend itself?

Whatever the shrill anti-Semites and Israel haters like to think and spout, the absolute undeniable fact is that the Palestinians they support routinely deliberately target children and other civilians, and that polls have shown this tactic has overwhelmingly approval by the Palestinian people.

But you won't see any condemnation of that, or even acknowledgment by the same people who scream and shout at Israel.

Israel also routinely deliberately targets children, so what is your point?
