“Testifying before a House Judiciary Committee hearing on February 11, 2026, Attorney General Bondi emphatically stated, ‘There is no evidence that Donald Trump has committed a crime.’ Yet a number of the documents from the Epstein files released to date by the Department of Justice directly contradict her statement," the congressmen wrote in a letter to Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche.

"When confronted with her lie, she did not retract her statement, she doubled down. She stated, ‘Don’t you ever accuse me of committing a crime,’' they continued. "We request that you immediately appoint a special counsel to investigate Attorney General Bondi for committing perjury. America cannot have a liar and a criminal as our top law enforcement officer."

The simple fact here is that Bondi lied under oath. There are mountains of evidence in the Epstein files alleging that Trump committed numerous crimes. He has been accused of assault, sexual abuse, rape, and threatening victims. Bondi knows that, but she also knows that her job security and political career depend upon her being a loyal MAGA soldier — even if that means lying to the American people and covering up for pedophiles.

Lieu told The Hill that Bondi “should be prosecuted” and said that Blanche would be wise to appoint the special counsel because it will insulate him from fallout from Bondi's alleged crimes.

"If Deputy Attorney General Tom Blanche doesn’t want to be complicit in a cover up, and go down with his ship, then I sure hope he responds and appoints a special counsel,” said Lieu.

We can expect Blanche, Trump's former personal attorney, to close ranks around Bondi and refuse to appoint the special counsel. That's okay. The more we tie these crooks into one big corrupt knot, the easier it will be to investigate them all when Democrats retake Congress after the midterms and gain subpoena power. They can delay and obfuscate, but justice is coming for them.
