.......... the intrigue re: SCOTUS ruling on Trump's tariffs is building. Ya think

Does he have the chutzpah to ignore a ruling?

If not I'm  sure he has a Plan B

If not, by ignoring the ruling the demise of the Constitution is greatly NOT exaggerated.

The Great Dictators in history didn't get overruled by their judges...

............ rule the Courts, ya rule the land with legitimate power.

"John Marshal has made his decision; now let him enforce it!" Andrew Jacksons response to the Supreme Court ruling over disputed indigenous land.

Andrew went on to state, 'light a fire under them, they'll move'.

The point is,  SCOTUS has NO real power ..........

Well... maybe... but if we're going back to Andrew Jackson it would surely constitute a rarity for the present executive to pull that.  At a certain point, nobody has real power if it comes down to anarchy.

Do tell us CLOWN, that you completely missed where Trump said he would train his GOONS in blue cities.

I told Pete we should use some of these dangerous cities as training grounds for our military National Guard but military.

That you are NOTHING but a CLOWN.

Thanks for proving that.

I see. Not that the fact a proof is not proven without proving the proof.

Did you ever listen to the Goon Show? It was really funny.

Mind you those without a sense of humour would probably be scratching their balls in frustration.

Speaking of incendiary rhetoric...

“This is a small bunch of wannabe Nazis. That’s what they are,” Krasner said. “In a country of 350 million, we outnumber them. If we have to hunt you down the way they hunted down Nazis for decades, we will find your identities. We will find you. We will achieve justice.”

AOC was on CNN saying that if Trump doesnt put a stop to it "we" need to. It was so bad that even the host said "I know you don't mean violence."

Don't you think that if I were wrong that I would know it?

On the contrary

The President has 'real' power - and immunity to any actions that he determines necessary.

There are none so blind as those that will not see.

The '26 midterms are absolutely critical to maintain Trump's agenda.

Strategy? No river too wide, no ocean too deep and no mountain  too high.

Imagine a Left, House Majority .............. heaven  forbid a Left Senate majority.

The executive is fighting for it's life and  I don't mean the political.

Heads will roll if the Left get a fighting majority, beginning  with the House.

............. True ........... I'd revise that to 'anyone with absolutely no experience politically can become president."

Look at Obama - minimal time as a Senator before grasping the brass ring.

Ironic that Joe's 47 years as a political hack worked against the doofus running against Trump on encore .........

Nod to Clinton (Hildebeest)................... gender and pant suites worked against her - nod to her husband.

Truman is my fav ............... hardware salesman(???) ............. course that was before substantive Primaries.

1. At a certain point, he doesn't.  In the US, Politics still matters.  Nixon went down, for example.
2. Don't call it The Left for chrissakes....

A sitting U.S. President has never been removed from office despite being impeached ......... the bar is waaaaaaaaaay too high. (Senate)

I expect the Left to carry on where they left off during Trump's first Term.

............ the list for impeachment will be long and checked twice - akin to Xmas.

Net effect in practical terms? Nil

In political terms?

2028 will tell.

OTC, SCOTUS ruled that his immunity is ONLY for OFFICIAL ACTS. Violating the law is not an "official act" when the Constitution says his duty is "shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed"

Quote

The "Take Care Clause" (Article II, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution) mandates that the President "shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed". This requires the executive branch to enforce, implement, and uphold all federal laws, including those with which they may disagree, through the supervision of executive officers, agencies, and the justice system.

How can I get you to swallow this pill ?  What if I put it in a sugar cube ?

I saw a documentary about the hard-left hippies who tried to take over the NDP in the early 1970s.  They lost, and one of the participants said ... at the time I thought that I was living in the most right-wing era I would ever see.  i was wrong.

:D

Both Carney and Trump are opening the door to real left wing stuff, and evidence that the left is so really dead is that nobody has even notice.  Nationalized industries  could percolate, and eventually bring us into a China-style reality this century.

But the future is a long way away.  It also just happened... there.... and again there.... and there...

Trump v. US

July 1st,  2024 Scotus ruled that presidents enjoy ABSOLUTE immunity from criminal prosecution for any actions taken within their OFFICIAL capacity as President.

It was a partisan decision,  6-3

Seal Team 6 was informed and recently Carney was told by security that he should be concerned.

This is a sweeping  decision without doubt and of course  will apply to all future administrations.

No doubt  it was part of the calculus deciding on  the Maduro raid.

It does make sense. ............ holding a President accountable post term for actions committed while President - absurd.
