Radiorum Posted January 12 Report Posted January 12 If you have a look at the archive of Trump’s Truth Social posts, on January 9th he makes this announcement: The largest Oil Companies in the World are coming to the White House at 2:30 P.M. Everybody wants to be there. It’s too bad that the Ballroom hasn’t completed because, if it were, it would be PACKED. We apologize to those Oil Companies that we cannot take today, but Secretary of Energy Chris Wright, and Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum, will see them over the next week. Everyone is in daily contact. Today’s meeting will almost exclusively be a discussion on Venezuelan Oil, and our longterm relationship with Venezuela, its Security, and People. Then, following the meeting, nothing. No mention at all of the “big meeting.” (But later that night he does post a “lookie here!” claim – (can you say diversion?) - that he would cap credit card interest rates at 10% - something illegal and unenforceable by him – an announcement that caused shares in US banks to fall - with JPMorgan Chase down 3.2% and Bank of America falling 2.5%. Among the credit card firms, American Express fell 4%, Visa dropped 1.2% and Mastercard was 2% lower … But the president remained undeterred. On Sunday, speaking to reporters on Air Force One, Trump said credit card companies would be "in violation of the law" if they did not comply with his demands. Fits right in with the administration’s new policy of comply, or die.) Anyway, he did not mention the meeting because the meeting was a total bust. Of course, Trump had the whole thing taped because the man is there for the show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkN_jisyjis Trump pitched his plan – “Venezuela is back, and you’re going to pay for it.” He assured the oil big wigs that sanctions are gone, risk is zero, and he would handle the politics. The response? Summed up in the words of Darren Woods, CEO of ExxonMobile: Venezuela is uninvestable. Uh-oh. Not “challenging” nor “complicated” - Uninvestable. Decades of expropriation. Legal chaos. Political instability. No rule of law. No guarantees that contracts mean anything longer than a dictator’s mood swing. The meeting unraveled from there. Trump does not have US big oil on his side here. What can he do next? Quote
Radiorum Posted January 12 Author Report Posted January 12 Oh, but Trump did name himself as the "Acting President of Venezuela" I wonder what the electorate have to say about that. 1 Quote

Well, I need to go look, but I think Exxon was one of the companies that got ripped off and never paid back billions that was stolen from them. I don't fault them for being hesitant, but these clowns are trying to have it both ways, where they sat around arguing that Venezuela didn't steal anything and then they turn around and use this on the flip side to brag about how companies are hesitant to go back. Like I said in the other thread, these companies are waiting for stability. A free and fair election would go a long way to doing that. But the left is shocked...shocked I tell you...that stability didn't happen over night. I would not invest a dollar in Venezuela unless and until the country begins conforming to western values. That means capitalism and representative government. What Trump needs to do is convince these oil companies to announce plans to invest in Venezuela and hire Venezuelans to do the jobs if a new government is elected. That would go a long way to bringing about change. 1 Quote Don't you think that if I were wrong that I would know it?

Then google usury. Then google interest rates. If usury can be illegal, then why can't interest rates be capped at 10%? It seems to me like there's a precedent for capping interest rates, no? And why are you so interested in protecting bank's rights to charge high interest rates? If Joe Biden or Kamala Harris said that they were gonna do that you would LOVE it. Now I gotta see what 12-house Bernie has to say about it. Oh, and Nancy "I LOVE VISA" Pelosi. Are you trying to make the case that usury should be legalized now? What are we "protecting Trump" from, dummy? Your id10tic opinion? Sorry, Trump doesn't care what a cultist, TDS whiner thinks. Maybe use some more words to try to make your point, as in something worth debating, because you just saying "fiasco" doesn't make something a fiasco. No doubt this is being done to protect the banks or some other rich people! This is a huge fiasco!" 1 Quote If the Cultist Narrative Network/Cultist Broadcasting Corporation gave an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of typewriters, leftists would believe everything they typed.
