Trump imposes 10% tariff on lumber, 25% on cabinets and furniture in another blow to Canadian producers

Duties would increase again on Jan. 1, 2026, to 30 per cent for upholstered wooden products and 50 per cent for kitchen cabinets and vanities

Massive new tariffs for Canada, and set to go up AGAIN in January.

 More 'elbows up'.

While carney claims that only "15 percent of our goods are tariffed", what he fails to mention is those goods repesent a HUGE percentage of our trade. So while the 'number' of goods may be low the actual tariffs are affecting more of our trade than anyone else.  We're getting clobbered and it's about to go up.

So you know what that means.  It means that trump is looking at NOT doing a deal anymore till nafta and then basically gutting nafta to get everything he wants and carney will have to cave.  Carney is 100 percent completely failing here.

Oh, and meanwhile:

PM Carney welcomes Trump's peace plan proposal for Israel and Gaza

He's out there gushing about how great trump is.

Elbows down, pants down.

Also on "Timber" which would inxlude raw logs.Plus a threatened 100% on foreign movies, just about the stupidest tariff yet.

Yep raw logs and finished wood.

The movie thing will be the death of bc if it happens, but i'm not really sure how you'd even collect that tariff.  At like every movie theatre?

Nothing funnier than Trumpers shocked at what a terrible choice they made. Hardly worth defending his paedophilia at all! 😂

Ummm... these are all canadians talking Chrissy :)  LOLOL   we never made a choice about trump :)   Why would WE have any say in the american gov't, we're not illegal mexicans after all!

Trump is doing the right thing for america and his mind, our problem is we just don't have a leader that will stand up for us like trump stands up for the us. We wish we had a choice like trump instead of Mr elbows and pants down Carney.

And don't kid yourself, the democrats were pretty much as bad. We had to fight with Biden tooth and nail over his whole America First crap and the very first second he got into power the first thing he did was crush a major oil line we had already sent billions into because the US government had agreed to it.

America's just a bad neighbor and we should have really thought of that quite some time ago. That's our fault, we won't make that mistake the next time

The movie tariff crosses into the realm of taxing services as opposed to a raw commodity or finished product. The US clearly enjoys a trade surplus with Canada when it comes to providing services. Given the digital nature of the way many of these services can be provided it should be fairly easy to tariff US services and find alternatives abroad.
