The "things" He's referring to includes everyTHING under Caesar's jusrisdition, which includes compliance to the laws of the land. If he had just said "Render money that is Caesar's unto Caesar" then you would have an argument. But since Jesus wasn't a godless heathen like you, he used more careful wording because someone like you would have done something like "well, he was just referring to money, so let's go ahead and facilitate illegal immigration and blow Charlie Kirk away".

"Love thy neighbor" not "Love thy neighbor's criminal behavior". If you're breaking the laws of the land then the best thing your neighbor can do for you is help you to be a good Christian, not a good criminal.
