The statute of limitations had expired for the misdemeanor charges but because the crimes were done in the furtherance of a felony, the charges were elevated according to NYS law to felonies for which the statute of limitations had NOT expired.

It is common right wing legal IGNORANCE which  pretends that was ILLEGAL but they never cite the law which clearly says that is legal.

The furtherance of a felony that was never proven. In fact they never actually even said which felony it was.

Around the entire world that was looked at as being really inappropriate and not in keeping with the concepts of justice

It what we call " a law".

On top of that, there remains to this day, no proof that those records are false. Just 3 options given the jury to make sure the complete lack of proof could be ignored.
