Because helping poor and disadvantaged is something to sneer at.

Moral superiority? 🤔

Would you mortgage your family's home, to feed the tent people?

Doubtful.

Of course not.

That's not in question.

For some reason, people are under the impression that the richest nation in history is poor. And working people are desperate.

But it's not starving foreigners who are picking the pocket of the working man.

It is exactly the question...and the problem.

The US national debt is about 36 trillion dollars. The deficit this year will be about 1.9 trillion. This debt is going to be inherited by the children. Yet the government continues to "mortgage the family home".

You have said you would not do such a thing. Yet you appear to be fine with the government doing it.

Rather hypocritical...no?

Do you do understand we're talking about numbers right?

If the debt is 2 trillion... Should you be worried about 1 million or 1 trillion?

Should you be worried about payments only? Or revenues?

Why do you believe that foreign aid is what we need to focus on? Who told you that?

If it's 1% of expenditure or even 2%, most of that money goes to domestic companies that provide goods overseas. Like Farmers.

Pardon me, but it seems that you are falling for some old tropes that aren't true.

What about taxes? Shouldn't they go up on the highest orders if we have a deficit? Trump cut taxes in his first term, the deficit went up in good times. And deficit Hawks like Paul Ryan were powerless and eventually he quit the party.

Let's talk about facts here.

What about taxes? It's common knowledge that the wealthy pay the bulk of our taxes.

And ?  What of that ?

If we cut their taxes, what is the purpose ?  To say 'thank you' ?  So we borrow money to pay for their gifts ?

Trump reduced revenues and increased the debt and Paul Ryan quit politics.

Don't be simple. And fck Paul Ryan. He's a RINO.

You know as well as I do that taxes inhibit the flow of currency, thus inhibits investment.

Revenue is not the problem. Spending is the problem. But Elon seems to have a bead on that. We need that effort in Canada.

Revenue is not the problem, yet. The tax cut produced a huge deficit. Your response is that Paul Ryan is a rhino.

You're not getting objective information. Trump's economic plan is going to cause disaster worldwide but especially for the USA.

I don't know when and if your personal awakening will come.

Unfortunately...I'm wide awake and know that:

A. Brandon took over and spent public coffers faster than could be replenished. Something no conservative would do. But when you cut spending, your tax cuts are getting replenished. If this works, by 2028 even Canada will be in better shape via increased investment.

B. Let's not forget that Trump is also reducing regulations that handcuff industry.

Perhaps I'm wrong...but I would think you know this?

LOL...So USAID spent how much saving people on the other side of the world?

Of course you care ONLY about how much it cost and remain IGNORANT about how many lives were saved. 🤮

How many lives has PEPFAR saved?
26 million lives
The investment of over US$110 billion since being launched has been transformative, with sub-Saharan Africa benefiting the most. Globally, Pepfar has saved 26 million lives and prevented nearly 8 million babies from being born with HIV.Mar 4,025

It's not happening that way.

Sure it is. We already see it.

Inflation is slowing...prices are starting to come down...the stock market is stabilizing...and DOGE is saving the citizens money.

It may be much to your chagrin to watch Trump succeed but...it looks like he's going to.

I haven't seen any official sources saying things are going well.

So you have at least articulated several hard metrics that we can use moving forward: inflation, stock market, Federal US budget.

Interest rates, unemployment make a total of five metrics.

We can watch those moving forward and see how it goes

Indeed. I just went grocery shopping. I noticed some prices already falling.
