PP doesn't need special financial skills.  Prime Ministers are surrounded by financial experts who give them all the advice they need.  They have a Minister of Finance who works with the experts.  Prime Ministers must have political experience.

Pierre Poilievre's political experience is serving him very well.  Conservatives have been very high in the polls for some time and only went down a bit because of the Trump threat.  But they stand a good chance of increasing their support during the election campaign.   

What Prime Minister in the history of Canada was a financial expert?  It's just not a qualification.
