Yes they still use a lot of coal and are probably the worst Co2 emitters. But they're pouring a lot into renewables to change that. On the other hand: AP News: Jan 24, 2025 —" Trump this week suggested coal can help meet surging electricity demand from manufacturing and the massive data centers needed for artificial intelligence."

Trump wants to go backward.

while we are pointing fingers we have no problem making a profit by selling coal to china, or whoever wants it....we talk a good game but don't ever get in the way of our making a profit...combine this with the liberals failed climate policies and you have our Government response to climate change....not to mention our climate minister dishing out millions to his own company from the climate green fund....thats what climate change means to the liberals , it's a cash cow...if you live in a glass house you should not throw rock's.

We, the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have now done so much for so long with so little, we are now capable of doing anything with nothing.

No they're not. They're adding a small amount of Renewables to slow the growth of it for virtue purposes. But there is absolutely no chance whatsoever of changing things and using LESS fossil fuels.

They are currently INCREASING their emissions by about 1 Canada every year and a half.  SO if we stopped every single emission entirely today theyd' replace that by end of 2026

That's the issue.  And everything we do is meaningless in the face of that.

Addressing climate change and living up our international committments.

Nothing compared to what climate change will do to our economy.

TO ACCOMPLISH NOTHING OF SUBSTANCE.

Two trillion dollars to achieve an artificial reduction goal that will make no detectable difference in world co2 levels now or in the future. F*ck that.

We'll probably achieve a far greater reduction long before that using the fastest surest means available - warfare and economic collapse. It'll cost who knows how many times as much as you said but so be it. It'll certainly be a lot more effective so there's that.

A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.

Only a lefty would argue that achieving nothing of substance was doing the right thing🙄

But it's not more effective. It achieves nothing

Anyway surely climate change has gone by now, I've been paying my carbon tax and we were assured that would end it

The right thing has more substance to it than you're capable of understanding.

Makes me wonder why you're always on the left then :)

And the only substance this would have is in your imagination. You had 10 years to prove that you and your fellow lefties were serious about climate change and you utterly completely failed despite having absolutely free reign. So it's pretty obvious you don't actually give a crap

Yes, I'm sure it'll be problem solved within a week once PP's in.

Problem, what problem?

And if he does say that then he'll have still done more to actually solve the problem than Trudeau had.

Trudeau did less than nothing and you losers had 10 years to course correct and make a difference and you failed, and you destroyed the economy while you were pretending to do something. So if Poilievre gets in and does nothing he will still have hurt us less than you
