myata Posted January 23 Author Report Posted January 23 (edited) One country does not get to make rules for everyone else. This is not how the sane world works. We need to find good partners and stable partnerships. That makes way more sense when trying to please and comfort an insane neighbor on each his sneeze or itch. Quote According to data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the northern border has seen an unprecedented number of encounters with individuals on the terrorist watchlist, significantly surpassing those at the U.S.-Mexico border in recent years https://tnc.news/2024/11/28/terrorist-apprehensions-canada-u-s-border/ https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/stats/cbp-enforcement-statistics This is why the new interest in the northern border. You have to admit, the border between Canuck paradise and Yankee land is almost impossible to enforce. All the lakes, forests, and massive length would required thousands upon thousands of agents to patrol it. It is far easier for Canada to just keep the terrorists out and share facial recognition of crossings at the airport. The percent of people crossing our border who get intercepted is vastly higher than the south. Now i'm all for improving our immigration situation. It's been a sore point in canada as well. But lets keep it in perspective. And as i noted you guys are letting guns across in record numbers, so if you want us to tackle one thing you should be prepared to tackle that. But at the end of the day the normal adult way for two friends to deal with an issue is to sit down and talk and agree on a course of action. Not to threaten each other or their livelyhood. that's just stupid. Quote There are two types of people in this world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data
