Social setting?

You guys on the left have been pushing the 3rd world on us with your open-borders madness.

How long will it be until you people are tearing statues off their pedestals, starting with Lady Liberty?

Well, I did not say "public space" and the way internet functions is more like the town square.

Except the Internet is anonymous - where no one has to take responsibility for what they say or what gets said  It's like a tragedy of the commons where everything turns to shit simply because nobody gives one.

It's nothing like the square in my town where everyone knows everyone else.

There have been experiments made where a community work s on a government initiative, using their real names, as in an actual online Town Hall.

The benefits were pretty clear.

If you can find the case, is called " more than talk" by Don Linehan.  They were gathering public input on a transportation project in New Brunswick

That said, there are advantages too limited anonymous input.  People are still reluctant to speak up for a variety of reasons, so anonymous input can be helpful if done responsibly

This has to be the standard of democratic government in the next phase. Otherwise, voting on sentiment, false, invented and manufactured realities will be a staple and the age of democracies will end. It really as simple as that: it's easier to believe in what we like than work on changing the reality in the way the society needs it. Humanity stumbled on this pothole on countless occasions, but here this time around with technologies of suppression and information, tyrannies can rule forever. The difference. The current system of delegating decisions and all responsibility somewhere far away is at an end of its run. A meaningful renewal should have happened years ago.

Except it is anonymous... what?

Anonymous speech is free speech. Why... if you are so concerned with that, why don't you use your real name here?

And no... not everything on the internet is anonymous nor does it turn to crap. I think you are speaking to your limited interactions on whatever forums you "contribute" to.

And in a larger city, not everyone knows each other. You can show up on the street corner and protest or engage in speech without ever having to advertise who you are.

I'm speaking to the area in between these.

...anarchist libertarianism or extreme leftist authoritarianism.

😭WAAAAAH, TWUMP NEVOW SHUDDA GOT EWECTID😭!!!!

The world needed the WWIII scenario to play out to its natural conclusion, and the border needs to remain open.

America deserves to have a president who can't talk to the media or take interviews. The ultimate evolution of democracy was to arrive at a point where all the candidates/elected officials ever do is read from the teleprompter.

Joe Biden was a perfectly fine president: very capable both mentally and physically.

Sure, lefties, just carry on believing that Biden is just awesome, global warfare is no big deal, the open border is cool, and unnecessary inflation never hurt anyone.

I know that you'll dearly miss the vax-fascism, hyper-criminalized FBI/DOJ/J6 committee, partisan media, biased social media, and the violent political rhetoric of Joe Biden and the Dems.

It's honestly outrageous that even this late in the game the leftard mongrels still don't care about all the crimes of the Biden administration and the Dembs' DOJ, and they have no idea why democracy turned its back on them.

If the Cultist Narrative Network/Cultist Broadcasting Corporation gave an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of typewriters, leftists would believe everything they typed.

Just for the record: the election attempt of Biden was an unforgivable failure of integrity and duty to the society. The two-millennia adage played itself out again and with perfect synchronicity:

- citizens grew complacent and bored, abandoned democratic politics to run itself

- it detached from the society and started running in its own space

- the detachment progressed all the way past the point of no return

- at a critical moment in history, all major political players failed the society: a clear and unforgivable faceplant.

Both parties have produced not just inferior but clearly unacceptable in a responsible democracy results. This is no coincidence but a result and outcome of a setting where political system does not need citizens except for once in a rare while legitimization ritual.

If it's you or them, the truth is equidistant
