We Canadians get along, peacefully.

No federal cultural, two federal languages and a half-assed protection of the individual.

While Hitler did not invent the Autobahn, he perfected it. Immediately after his rise to power, Hitler allotted billions for construction of this super highway project. In fact, the Autobahn was so successful, that it was a precursor for the American Interstate system.

DUI_Offender,

I very strongly disagree.

In my opinion, the world was civilised (like now - not perfect) in 1914.

And then, for no reason, sophisticated European people in power screwed things so that for the next 30 years (1914-1945) and we ordinary people around the world suffered.

You think Trump is Hitler. Hitler was a result of this 1914 collapse

I fear that sophisticated people - such as you - are about to do the same as those in 1914. People like you are provoking a 1914 war destroying a civilised world - a civilised world for ordinary peaople like me .

The Volkswagen

Literally meaning “People’s Car”, this vehicle was presented as a car that every German citizen could afford to buy. It was based on the advice of Hitler to the designer, saying that it should resemble a beetle. The car was a huge success (it was made available to citizens of the Third Reich through a savings scheme at 990 Reichsmark, about the price of a small motorcycle), but toward the end of the war resources were low and public availability declined. The Volkswagen emerged more as a military vehicle toward the end of the Third Reich.

Except no German ever owned one.

Anti-Tobacco Movement

It is rumored that Adolf Hitler was so opposed to smoking in his later life that he couldn’t stand someone lighting up in the same room, and often felt obligated to object to it as a waste of money. Thus, he began one of the most expensive and effective tobacco movements throughout history. While during the 1930s and 1940s, other anti-tobacco movements failed fantastically in other countries, it was taken seriously in Nazi Germany.

Hated smoking but was addicted to cocaine and opioids.

Not true at all.
The Beetle was designed by Ferdinand Porsche. Hitler had nothing to do with its design and it wasn’t called The Beetle, it was called the KDF Wagen, which means “Strength Through Joy.”
Hitler got the government to fund the plant’s construction, and came up with a program to let the factory workers buy one by payroll deductions.
But after building just two prototypes, the Nazis converted the plant into a war factory, producing a Jeep-like car, very similar to the VW Thing, and an amphibious vehicle.
After the war, Porsche was jailed as a war criminal and two factory workers managed to build a civilian Volkswagen, which lead to starting production of the famous Beetle.
Surving factory workers who produced their filled up coupon books sued and finally got their cars.

@reason10: “Hitler had very little to do with the Holocaust.”

Whatever.

To me, Europe was civilised in 1912. And then, it commit suicide.
