gatomontes99 Posted August 24, 2024 Report Posted August 24, 2024 What if I told you that there was a program that will get you a $30,000 down-payment toward a new home? Of course, that is a bad idea. It just raises the price of the home because now more people can afford the house. So the cost of housing goes up and even more people can't afford home. That's a bad deal. But this is way worse. Taxpayer-Funded Group Offers $30,000 To New Homebuyers — As Long As They Aren’t US Citizens Hacienda CDC is reportedly offering $30,000 for down payment assistance for eligible new homebuyers through their Camino a Casa program, according to a screenshot first reported by X user Oregon Citizen. “Clients work closely with financial coaches and HUD-certified housing counselors throughout the entirety of the homebuying process. In addition to mortgage readiness and financial fitness workshops, we provide various opportunities for down-payment assistance,” the organization states. So, not only are they driving up the cost of housing and making it harder for the middle class and poor to afford the home, they are only offering tax payer money to people who, by definition, violated the law. They are literally offering benefits, using your money, to people that are here illegally. You could actually get a whole new set of government benefits by renouncing your citizenship. Here is the informational slide show that talks about how organizations like Hacienda would be selected and why: https://www.oregon.gov/biz/Publications/EEIP/EEIP2.0RFGAInfoSessionPowerPoint.pdf Here is the actual page for the grant money Hacienda was using: https://www.oregon.gov/biz/programs/economic_equity_investment_program/pages/default.aspx And here is the flyer they are sending to schools to give to kids whose parents might use it. It is a common practice to send flyers like this to schools to limit the response since there were only 21 grants available. Although “non US citizen” does not necessarily mean illegal. You know that lots of people are here legally going through a multi-year citizenship process, right? I have Canadian friends who were going through citizenship and they were required to go to a center in New Mexico for a meeting. To get into the office for the meeting, they were told but a government official to go through a door to enter the building. Then they got a letter months later saying their daughter was going to be deported because she illegally crossed the U.S. Mexico border by walking through that door. Their daughter was only 13, and she solved the problem herself by writing to First Lady Laura Bush, who got the letter and called Homeland Security personally to fix their mess. And sometimes they tell the truth and the dem supporters say it's a lie anyway Not 100 percent sure here so it goes in my mental box of "reported - unverified". Best i can do for you. Edit - he DOES seem to have some fairly compelling evidence i note on further reading. Did you have anything that suggested it wasn't accurate?
