I wonder why that spike occurred in 2023. Maybe because they felt sorry for Biden? Or maybe because they know Trump being president again is a formality. No, it's got to be pity on Biden. Quote

Putin's INVASION made the value of NATO membership skyrocket, cause they want to be under Joe's umbrella. Esp since they can't count on Trump. 🤮 Quote

Putins war put the fear in people, but am quite confident another Trump term meant there was an even greater pressure on people to conform to spending thresholds as people wouldn't get away with it under Trump. Very easy to, when you won't get humiliated or called out for it. 39 minutes ago, robosmith said: NATO membership skyrocket Trump made paying your dues as a member, be of greater importance. I like how people dismiss Trump because he's a total d*** and a jack** at times. I base it on performance on paper. Quote

The issue was domestic DEFENSE SPENDING. It is hilarious how you pretend that NATO countries increased their defense spending due to fear of Trump instead of fear of Putin. They knew they could not rely on Trump AT ALL. If ANYTHING they feared he would be ELECTED. Quote

If ANYTHING they feared he would be ELECTED. Trump did both. He got Europeans to pay more dues as a percentage of the NATO operating budget AND he got them to increase spending on their defense as a % of their GDP. This was long before Putin fully invaded Ukraine under Biden's watch. 1 Quote

I also added this link: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-03-16/nato-members-ramp-up-defense-spending-after-pressure-from-trump?embedded-checkout=true Link's a paywall, but point taken. I looked it up and I think it was 10 countries by the end of 2020: In 2014, when allies agreed that all members should meet NATO’s 2% spending level by 2024, only the U.S., Greece and the United Kingdom were in compliance. Now, NATO data shows Romania, Estonia, Latvia, Poland, Lithuania, France and Norway meeting the target. https://www.stripes.com/theaters/europe/ten-nato-members-now-meet-2-defense-spending-benchmark-but-not-germany-1.649349 Even so, many of these countries had already embarked on massive military expansion long before Trump even came to office (particularly Poland and the Baltic States), and likely as a result of Russia's annexing Crimea. 10 hours ago, User said: Welcome to team Trump. What was Trump's response? Of, that's right, to still withdraw nearly all the troops and let the Taliban have Afghanistan. Quote

Then you said the only source I had was Trump lying... I give you that source that proves otherwise and you ignore it and mock one small part of it. He shipped Ukraine anti-tank missiles. He threatened Putin. Putin did not invade on his watch. Biden could have stopped any of it if he didn't like it. No one forced Biden to withdrawal as he did. Part of that agreement was Afghan peace talks. Biden owns that mess. Sigh, you are such a dishonest person.
