Seems to me that is racist. No proof that happened. In this case it appears because it was the first violent crime so it all starts fresh.... that I can't condone. Prove they deserve bail for violent crimes, not make them prove they don't. 1 hour ago, CdnFox said: As of 2017 the new law all but forbids it. They walk As usual, you're wrong as hell again. So you are from the let's give everyone bail, regardless of what they are charged with school. I'm sure the victim's family will agree with you. An innocent person wound up dead but we wouldn't want that to interfere with someone getting bail. Edited June 21, 2024 by Aristides 1 Quote

As usual you're a lying sack of shit who doesn't care if people are killed or raped as long as your precious criminals aren't overly troubled. Don't get me wrong, I would happily put a bullet in the back of the head of a cereal rapist myself and sleep like a baby that night. But we're talking about giving the state the power of life and death over its citizens. And there have been just too many cases where the police or other actors have faked evidence or excluded evidence that prove someone was innocent. Well no, I said Capital punishment for repeat violent crime offenders. It is highly unlikely if not impossible in a democracy like Canada for a person to be charged and convicted twice for violent crime and be innocent in both cases. Impossible. Lets be concerned about the rights and safety of the victims and protect women and children rather than a violent animal. Quote

Of course it's possible. In fact it's a matter of time. It really isn't that hard when you think about it. The state cannot be trusted with the power of life and death over its people. We're not just talking about deliberate government abuses, if it's not managed properly it's extremely easy for an unscrupulous cop or other official to manufacture a charge and that has in fact happened in Canada before several times. Life in jail means that The person is removed permanently from society but if it turns out that there was a miscarriage of justice then there's still time to fix it. Interestingly enough it's also the cheaper of the two solutions. Capital punishment actually costs more. And because you have to have endless appeals and double checks to make sure you're not killing the wrong person more often than necessary it also tends to lead to a lot more bad guys being released because the burden of proof is considerably higher. Lock them up, throw away the key, no hope of parole, around once in awhile to scare young offenders before they become permanent problems.
