I am probably the biggest sports fan on this forum. Especially when it comes to basketball. I have watched one of her games and she was hardly dominant.. but she is a rookie. Also, they played 11 games in 15 days. That is hard for anybody let alone someone just getting accustomed to the faster pace of the WNBA. 

Statistically.. she is only in the top 5 in one category; assists. Her team is not doing well. Dominant players help their teams win, ie Luka Doncic, Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetekounpo, etc. So lets ease up and give her time. This time next year, I bet that her team is doing better and she figures out the nuances of winning basketball.

Somebody complained about the View complaining about people who like a basketball player, and I looked at a video from a sports show that said maybe she was good. Maybe not.

And then I talked to another poster about it and then he explained some aspects of the game of basketball.

If you want to talk about something else, start a thread maybe.

Besides, Clark's rivalry with Angel reese can only serve to drive up interest. True, Clark refuses to really play along with the socioeconomic narrative and that's good. For the casual fan.. you need more than basketball to get them interested. I would gladly watch Toronto vs. Charlotte in the NBA on a given day.. just because. The non-sports context does not drive me to watch it.

The really interesting thing about Clark is that she is a phenom first round pick and yet her salary is less than some high school janitors.  I am not sure how this can even be real, but it is, sadly

Easy. It is the same reason I would not be paid very much if anything at all for spending my entire day eating popsicles to then sell the popsicle sticks. 

There is no value in it. 

Not very many people watch the WNBA. They only get paid as much as they do because the NBA subsidizes them. 

Also, do not feel too bad for Clark, she did get millions in endorsements. Many millions.

I would challenge you to name me 3 current WNBA players, without looking at Google, and omitting the name of Caitlin Clark and Britney Griner.

The reality is, very few people could do this, which is closer to what the problem is. 

It's not a gender thing, at all.

People will pay great money to watch the best perform.

You won't pay upwards of 200$ to watch LeBron James play because he is a big name.

His skill level at basketball, is among the best on the entire planet.

This is what draws fans.

Caitlin has that thing in her play, which is what is garnering her some attention.

Tiger Woods was a game changer, due to his obtuse levels of skill. Connor McDavid. 

I could go on. These players draw crowds because of what they can do. There aren't enough professional women who can do this.

You won't pay to watch sports because of someone's gender. Demanding one to do so, would be ridiculous.

You will, because of what they can do on the court.

How it should be.
