Just like the SAQ is the only wholesaler in Quebec. In Ontario, the brewers own the Beer Stores.l Everybody pays the same. Wait a minute here. I read a CBC article and it states; (https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/ontario-booze-changes-announcement-1.7058335) Quote Starting in 2026, Ontarians will be able to buy beer, wine, cider and seltzers at convenience stores, big box outlets, some gas stations and more supermarkets, marking a major overhaul in how alcohol is sold in the province. How is it comparable to Quebec? I can go across the street to the convenience store or the grocery store, and I will be able to get as much beer as I want/ In Ontario, it isn't the same. What in the world are you talking about? What is your point, to just argue to argue? Do you have anything else to do? The SAQ doesn't have the monopoly like the LCBO has in Ontario. You're so lost. Firstly, you linked a year and a half old story. As of last Thursday (18 July) all that is now available in convenience stores and grocery stores that applied for a licence. https://windsor.ctvnews.ca/convenience-stores-gearing-up-to-enter-alcohol-market-1.6967389 The SAQ is a monopoly in Quebec. "Québec Liquor Corporation) is a provincial Crown corporation and monopoly in Quebec responsible for the trade of alcoholic beverages within the province." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Société_des_alcools_du_Québec So before you try and accuse someone of just arguing, you should get your shit together, and gather your facts LOL "Do you have anything else to do?" LOL How's about getting back to should've been the meat of the discussion that this could've been done in a more orderly fashion that avoided any cost to the Ontario public? LCBO stores open tomorrow. Let's just put this thread to bed. Quote

The cost ito the Ontario public s the increase in pay, making more full time employees when they don't need them and keeping all a\almost 700 LCBO stores open. when grocery and convenience stores will sell same products. Now that is a cost. So, the strike is over and this thread. is now moot Edited July 22, 2024 by ExFlyer Quote Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But you are not entitled to your own facts.
