New Poll Reveals Real Dividing Line Between Abortion Supporters and Opponents

Quote

"Across nearly every faith and in all but five states, a majority of Americans support at least some access to abortion." That’s a major conclusion of a new massive survey of 22,000 people from the Public Religion Research Institute.”

But the survey’s most revealing insight is the group in which anti-abortion sentiment remains strongest: white Christian nationalists.

Also important: “In the seven battleground states that are expected to define the presidential race—Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin—a collective 64% of residents say abortion should be legal in all or most cases.”

^The swing issue which will drive Democratic TURNOUT. AKA, women who hate Trump for depriving them of their RIGHTS.

Abortion is a complete non-issue with me. However, it does conjure very strong emotions in most. I can see it being an issue that swings the vote in some states... nevada is not one of them.

Let @robosmith bark. He's howling about a non-issue.

The beauty of nevada is two fold. First, wide open spaces. Second, very mellow political environment. The issues that send other cities into protests, riots, chaos. etc.. barely move the needle here. We had a "George Floyd" protest here.. it lasted 4 hours and resulted in one broken window. This is very minimal in comparison to other cities.

The survey would seem to suggest trump is taking the right course.

By leaving it up to the states, it lets local populations consider their own moral stance on the issue and act appropriately.  Almost everyone wants SOME restrictions on aboriton,  nobody except DieHard lefties are clamoring for abortion at the moment of birth. Most are extremely happy with something like during the first trimester, and it seems that most states have moved in that direction.

I don't think anybody who would have considered voting for trump at all will be moved by this issue. It's a state issue now, very arguably should have been all along, and the states can find a solution that their people believe in.

TBH, there are some strong arguments tangled up in all of your drivel, but as usual they're just a prop for your lies.

What's true? The statement that most people do agree with some access to abortion. IMO 64% is ridiculously low. I think that way more than 64% of people would support a woman's right to an abortion if she was raped. Even some people who wouldn't openly support it would secretly support their child's right to an abortion if it happened to them.

I think that a large majority of people in most states and provinces would agree with abortion up to 1 or 2 months.

I think that a solid majority of people in most states and provinces would agree with abortion up to 3 months.

What did robo lie about? (there's always a lie. Robo doesn't write posts without lies or in support of lies 😉 )

Trump didn't deprive anyone of rights. The SC simply came to the conclusion that the US constitution isn't clear enough on abortion to determine firmly in one direction or the other - and that's very plain to see because the word abortion isn't even in the constitution - so the SC determined that they weren't in charge of it and left individual states to make their own laws.

That's how a democracy works, robo. Legislators make laws, democratically, if the voters give them a strong enough majority, and judges are there to see to it that laws are obeyed. Judges are not tasked with creating laws and broadly applying them. That's called "ruling from the bench" and it's the harbinger of doom for any democratic country.

If the Cultist Narrative Network/Cultist Broadcasting Corporation gave an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of typewriters, leftists would believe everything they typed.

Bug-juice is the new Kool-aid.

You are clearly IGNORANT of Canadian attitudes on the abortion issue (like you are on most things).

More than 8 in 10 Canadian women strongly advocate for availability and access to the two abortion options in Canada and autonomy of choice

And? Did you think putting it in a huge font would somehow make your point less false? :)

Most Canadians of either sex are accepting of limited access to abortion and don't have a problem with the morning after pill.  Honestly  i don't think anyone here even considers the pill "abortion" really.

How does that change anything about what was previously said?  It doesn't.  And you know that or you wouldn't bother with the font :)

There is an option to display as plain text. I had to grab my ear protectors when I opened the page.

Giggle...

A person would have to have some serious cognitive issues to not see the mess Brandon has created.

I believe they are driven by pure hatred of one guy...Donald Trump. They nurture their hatred daily with anything available. In this case, it's stats that seemingly signify a strong economy. But none of that matters to a person who's bills have risen so high that they are slowly going broke.

There is a simple solution but if hating Trump is what they hang their hat on, then oil and gas are the hat and over spending on stupid crap is the umbrella stand.

They can quote numbers all day and night, but when a sitting president declares war on oil and gas...the price of them rise...and as the prices rise...so does everything else.

As for the spending...Libbies love to print money and give it away. The more they do it, the happier they are. They don't care about the consequences because...they have "empathy" and that makes them feel good. Their "empathy" created the ghettos. Created the lawlessness we have today. Invited millions of illegals to enter the nation with their criminal element. Created a 35 trillion dollar debt.

But it makes them feel good about their destruction and serves as a salve to ease the pain af their constant hatred.

It would be easy to think it's all based on trump. But I note that before trump they weren't any less hateful of the candidates that came before. Mitt Romney was Satan himself when he was running. Now he's a minor deity for having said that trump isn't a perfect person. They thought George was Pure Evil and the rhetoric around Reagan was blistering.

And when trump is gone, the next person is just as bad. I guarantee it.

The problem is they are pure tribal. Anything that is not them is evil. The left wing has become utterly xenophobic. Absolute no tolerance for anything outside of their paradigm. And if overspending, inflation, declining health or living conditions etc etc is what it takes to support their righteous position, then it must be a good thing.

And they love handouts because if you make someone dependent on you you have enslaved them successfully yet they will praise you for your generosity. I guess slavery looks good if you can make the chains pretty enough

Ya perhaps. But I doubt any of us has ever seen this sort of hatred. It's down right ridiculous...and dangerous.

You're probably not wrong.  At least as far as political parties or more accurately candidates go.  There's been lots of political and racial unrest in the past of course, the 70's campus riots, the 'zoot suit' riots etc etc.   But as far as actually focused on the president himself this is pretty bad.

Having said that it's been inching in this direction for a long time. Remember when the dems demanded unironically that Romney said he would put the black people in chains again? As if he was advocating a return to slavery?

Just like they're now trying to say trump says there'll be a bloodbath if he looses, when he really said the auto industry will have  'bloodbath' under biden.

I think that  one of the differences is that in the past people still kind of knew that level of hatred was not real and blew it off a little (at least the reasonable ones), whereas the left has really bought into the idea that every single crazy thing they say about trump is the absolute truth.

they've just been improving their ability at self delusion over the years and now they've achieved olympic levels :)
