At first, I was incensed that the U.S. is calling on Israel to minimize civilian casualties, instead of simply saying that the U.S. is working with Israel to minimize casualties. 
 

But then we read that U.S. warships are shooting down Iranian missiles fired out of Yemen. Quite a lot of them.  And that is a situation we don’t want to escalate.  This is probably why the U.S. took the tone of TELLING Israel to minimize casualties rather than stating that we are working with Israel to minimize casualties.  
 

It’s fun to pretend you’re the biggest, toughest bully in the schoolyard, but it’s not always best to brag about it.
