I know I am be a bit late to the party on this but I literally just learned of this and I am trying to figure out what advantage having an alert specific to black children creates?

The only thing I can think of is now we will know the race of the child prior to actually reading the alert so racists can choose whether to care or not easier. I genuinely don't get it. This is very "separate but equal". Now they are going to have to worry about divvying up the resource equitably between the 2 systems or all hell will break loose. Before any race of child missing= Amber alert.

First, the choice of CNN was kinda asinine. Depending on CNN for information is like depending on a cesspool for drinkable water.

Secondly, this law violates the Civil Rights Act.

It's interesting that law enforcement requested it. Seems odd but if it works,  by all means do it.

It would be interesting to know the rational behind it but as I said, if it works, do it. The object is to find kids after all, not grind political axes.

Its a new law that hasn't been implemented yet, no evidence its going to work yet.  Sounds like more racially divisive nonsense.
