In 1815, diplomats organized a structure of peace.

In 1919, Versalles, it was a mess. It changed nothing.

In 1945, various American/Russian/Japanese politicians/diplomats managed to create a system of peace.

====

Since 1991 or so, we don't have such a structure of peace.

After 1815, the European world had a structure of peace. It lasted until 1914. About 100 years.

People like Albert Einstein and John von Neumann were born in such a world.

===

Then, this world collapsed. In 1914, an elite was foolish -destroyed itself, commit suicide - and for the rest of us, some 30 years of misery.

IMO...what the world needs, is for the western nations...primarily the USA...to stop meddling in the affairs of other nations. China and Russia do this as well.

Let Africa and South America develop. Stop buying nations with the World Bank, International Monitary Fund, and now Blackrock and Vanguard.

Agreed.

When you say "western nations", you mean the US.

Americans eventually won the Vietnam War - a battle against communism. You guys defeated the Soviets.

You won the Cold War. Reagan won! The Wall no longer exists - it is now only bronze plaques on streets.

=====

Since 1991 or so, we have a new world.

I mean all western nations. The leader is the USA, but the rest cling-on for profit as well.

So now what?

Michael, I don't know.

I looked at the dates of birth.

People like Nixon (1913), JFK (1917) Trudeau Snr (1919), Kissinger (1923)  as young men, lived through this 1914-1945 cataclysm.

Deng (1904), Brezhnev (1906). Even Mao and Chou (1898).

Gorbatchev (1930) and Yeltsin (1930) were born during. Like Mulroney (1930).

People like Putin (1952) or Obama (1961) only know by video.

In 1815 in Vienna, the European political world created a regime of peace.

It lasted for 100 years - and allowed people like von Neumann to think.

This civilised world collapsed in 1914.

Why?

Needed: New Potsdam, Bretton Woods, UN, structure of peace

Just don't call it a truth and reconciliation process.

That said I would suggest an indigenous Earthling to chair it.

Good luck.

A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.

From 1789 to 1815, Europeans had no peace. Then, they did. For 100 years.

In the summer 1914, Europeans wrecked their civiilsed world.

From 1945, the world has had peace.

At present, I fear that we are wrecking our civilised societies.

====

People like Nuland, Obama, Sullivan, Biden cannot decide the world.

I prefer Trudeau Snr, Kissinger: create counter-weights.

Disagree.

The 1815 Congress created peace for 100 years.

In 1945, Potsdam created peace.

Indigenous? No, the Russians had destroyed Berlin and the only place to meet was in the outskirts.
