Dear really really stupid person,

That assessment was for tax purposes. Evidently you are unaware of the difference between tax evaluation and resale evaluation. Perhaps you don't own property...and perhaps you're just engaging in Libbie bullshit.

Either way...your post was really really stupid.

What's really stupid is ^you not understanding that "tax evaluation" differs greatly by locality. Even in the same state HERE.

This is what your/CNN's 'truth' looks like.

It's honestly just bizarre that you'd run your mouth on this topic. You're a disgrace to western civilization.

CNN's credibility or lack thereof, has NOTHING TO DO with Trump's pathological LYING.

There are OFTEN many other sources which corroborate CNN reporting.

The disgrace is YOURS because you've been CONNED.

Yes. This is Trump's closest confidant in the white house, telling it exactly like it was. Confirming that what Trump has said publicly is indeed exactly what he says privately. When someone tells you who they are, believe them.

Trump is a truly awful excuse for a human being. How does one defend the indefensible? I can only assume that those who defend and revere the man are equally awful.

Well, they could just be suffering from cognitive dissonance. It can be difficult to face a lifetime of abhorrent credulity.

That's why I practice continual reality checking through MANY SOURCES.

Well if that were true you wouldn't need to lie about it.  The truth would suffice.

John kelly is not trumps "closest confidant"  anywhere.  And it's to his profit to mouth off about the boss.

Trump's a liar and a womanizer and all kinds of things but i don't find him to be any worse than either of the clintons, CERTAINLY not bill.

But the left has become so intolerant that anyone who disagrees with them is hitler, and anyone who doesn't hate hitler is also hitler.

Because as every authortarian scumbag in history knows - the first thing to do is dehumanize your opponent.

Honestly you should be ashamed.

Sorry kiddo - the only thing 'blatant' around here is that you're triggered and have n o argument.

Property taxes are based on selling prices, not what you make up.

What? No they are not!!!  I take it you're not a homeowner.

Property assessment for tax purposes are totally not based on the expected 'selling price' and are often radically different than the selling price assessment

Ya know...I actually think @Aristides knows that, but is so driven by hatred that he finds he simply must refute the obvious...in a vain attempt to justify this clownshow going on in NY.

The NY civil cases will either fail miserably or be over turned.

The rest of the bullshit is laughable.

By the time this is done, the public will be so sick of these whiny saps, and Trump will be so incensed by it all, that he'll win effortlessly and open the flood gates for some harsh but obviously necessary lessons for these...brats.

Tax assessments are based on the previous year's selling prices. That's why assessments go up and down.

Quote

To arrive at a value for tax purposes, the assessor looks at what similar properties are selling for, the value of any recent improvements, any income you may be making from, say, renting out a room in the property, and other factors—like the replacement cost of the property if, God forbid, it burns down in a fire (which sounds dark, but assessors are thorough professionals, who consider every possibility).

From the article you linked.

They are not.  And everyone knows that who's ever owned a property.

From the article -

In the end, the assessor comes up with an assessment value of a home and deducts any tax exemptions for which you qualify. Then, that number is multiplied by an “assessment rate,” also known as “assessment ratio,” a uniform percentage that each tax jurisdiction sets that is typically 80% to 90%, to arrive at the taxable value of your property.

So if, say, the market value of your home is $200,000 and your local assessment tax rate is 80%, then the taxable value of your home is $160,000. That $160,000 is then used by your local government to calculate your property tax bill.

Do you get it yet? The tax rate is not the same as your market rate at all and is often VERY different.

Why are you like this?

He's always like this.  He's very obviously wrong - it's not even any kind of debateable issue.  Tax assessment and market assessment are never the same unless by freak accident.

The article you posted makes that clear - but he posts one sentance out of context and then tries to claim he's right when it is PAINFULL obvious he isn't.

And he wonders why people have zero respect for him.  I don't understand - it's not great to be wrong but it's not the end of the world - why would you double down when it's been clearly proven you're wrong?

That's how they determine how much tax you will pay and to do that they have to come up with a value to apply any exemptions. Taxable value is determined from the assessed value.

You obviously don't understand what you are reading.
