Republicans’ “star”impeachment lawyer Jonathan Turley laid an egg today at the impeachment hearing on Joe Biden.

 He just said in his opening statement, “I do NOT believe the evidence currently meets the standard of a high crime & misdemeanor needed for an article of impeachment."

Starting to really look like Republicans have NOTHING.

More and more Republicans are showing they can only whine and complain, and have very few actual skills.

They said they didn't have the evidence to go to full impeachment but that the evidence they have definitely justifies the hearing and further investigation to get answers to the questions the evidence raises.

in otherwords - they've got the smoke, and they have now shown the hearings are necessary to look for the fire.

Pretty  normal stuff - that's why you have the hearings. Otherwise you'd just go straight to impeachment .

Plenty of evidence was found of Trump's campaign colluding with Russian agents whether you understand that or not. Esp Manafort as campaign CHAIRMAN.

At this time there is evidence indicating joe biden committed crimes.  But while the evidence is substantial it is not conclusive proof.

Therefore the committee and investigation and the effort to dig further into the matter to get to the truth is entirely valid.

What they've got now is a lot.  They have clear and convincing evidence. Now they're looking at completing the puzzle and raising that to evidnece beyond a reasonable doubt.

Pretending that a lot is somehow the same as nothing is chlidish in the extreme, and a sign that you've lost control of your emotional response and can't think about the subject rationally.

I can - and it's easy to see they have a lot of evidence, but that they have some gaps.  If they can fill those gaps with facts then biden goes to jail. If they can't, then they won't be able to meet the bar of a criminal conviction, although it might still be enough to convince the public he's dirty.  It sure looks that way.
