can we use, that is, put sufficient trust in the existing instruments of democracy such as courts to determine the factual nature of certain events?

The obvious answer to that is a resounding "NO!".

You crazy-assed fops have warped justice and would destroy Democracy completely, given half a chance. And for what? Orangemanbad.

Its a psychosis that is as destructive as it is obvious.

Citizens have to do away with their democracy to satisfy your whimpering lying idol? I think it's a clear conclusion of an intelligent discussion.

Nope. That we can't do. There is so much opposition to Trump in general, that it's impossible to say that the legal system is unbiased.

In other words, I see as much systemic anti-Trumpism in this country as any liberal/leftist sees systemic racism; maybe even more.

So it looks like we've reached an impasse on this one, but feel free to lay down any other issues you have, as I'm sure you have a truckload. ;)

Not Democracy.

YOUR warping of it.

Beck said: “Do you regret not locking [Clinton] up? And if you’re president again, will you lock people up?”

Trump said: “The answer is you have no choice, because they’re doing it to us.”

Clearly the Clown has no clue of the Constitution. The damage is done already: how could a jerk like this have been nominated, and elected a leader of a sane democratic country? Will all future political discourse center on who will be "locked up", with no constitutional powers to do so? This smacks of a dictatorship, what else?

Clearly the political system is failing the country and its citizens. A vibrant democracy is a constant vigil of the citizens, not a mindless ride.

It is also clear that the target of the mob isn't just one election or some individuals, no. It's the democracy itself: they attacked free elections; independent investigation and courts; and now they are after political opponents. These are dark and dangerous times in the US history. And what if stagnating politics won't have the answers?

Your definition of “destroying America” is gay and black people having equal rights as everyone else. And your definition of “destroying Democracy” is the lawful election of people you don’t like.

I don't remember destroying anyone's "rights". Which "rights" might you be squacking' about?

As for destroying Democracy...there are still tens of millions of the US electorate who do not believe that election was on the up an' up. On the other hand, opening the border and defunding the police certainly qualify as destructive.

Nope. That we can't do.

How do you see it then? Should the country let go of the entire justice system? Or make a special exception, assign lifetime immunity for one particular citizen? Or maybe, delegate the case(s) to another national jurisdiction, where folks wouldn't have such biases?

Like which one would be a better solution, in your esteemed view?

It doesn't matter what many citizens believe, cause they are, like you, being LIED TO.

Neither of those is happening, just cause your right wing propaganda sources claim it is.

Lol...can't name any rights curtailed and outright lies about the border.

You're disqualified.

You have to prove YOUR CLAIMS FIRST with a legitimate source.

Until you do, your OPINION is refuted BY MINE.

The idea that we can have no responsibility, citizens, parties, leaders that we can grab popcorn, throw at democracy anything and see what happens may very well be the end of the current phase in its history. Rome was a democracy that ended by mental laziness, boredom and thirst for power. Nothing is guaranteed, no permanent vaccines here. At least this much we already know. Doesn't look that far at all.
