So far in the middle of Hurricane Season (which according to the extra chromosome crowd here are TOTALLY caused by  American fossil fuel use ONLY) there's been a lot of fizzling out.

Atlantic

two_atl_7d0.png

Pacific

two_pac_7d0.png

These are two systems that should have  pounded the hell out of the Atlantic Coast and the Gulf states. And they are fizzling out and heading the other way, even with all those record warmest waters here.

Gee!

I guess the Chicken Littles will have to find another issue other than hurricanes to bash Capitalism.

Because I live in Florida, I go to the National Hurricane Center site every day. One small speck coming out of Cabo Verde and the whole state watches.

So far, wind shear has taken these potential storms down the way a conservative kicks a liberal's ass in a debate.

What is the US hurricane season in Florida?

Hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30. If you are wondering when peak hurricane season in Florida is, most activity is seen August through October, where 96 percent of the major hurricane days occur from August to October, according to NOAA.Jul 7, 2023

Sometimes global warming makes it hot out, sometimes it makes it cold.

Areas on the weather map are red at 24° now when they used to be green at that temperature. That's how bad global warming is.

Sometimes my neighbour's dog barks because of it. It's really bad.

If the Cultist Narrative Network/Cultist Broadcasting Corporation gave an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of typewriters, leftists would believe everything they typed.

Nope. I'm just right again. And I didn't draw those charts. They come from the National hurricane center, you MOR0n.

IOW, we're at the start of peak (96%) activity.

We've got two months of worry left. A big one could charge at us from Cabo Verde or the next two months could wind up just like the last couple of weeks, with little storms not making it much  past the middle of the Atlantic.

Even in a major storm season, Florida is safer than it would be from uneducated Blue state retttards like you coming down here because you can't afford the taxes of the shithole you voted for.

Florida has survived Hurricanes Donna, Charley, Irma and Ian, but HURRICANE BLUE STATE IDI0T can do some real damage. But not to worry. We're sending you the animals who swim the Rio Grande and who unelected Joe try to send to Florida.

Hasn’t Florida had enough hurricanes to convince you? People in trailer parks are especially vulnerable.  You should be worrying.

Convince us of WHAT? Hurricanes are NATURAL, same as blizzards, tornadoes and thunderstorms. And if you somehow think that putting a carbon tax on AMERICAN ONLY fossil fuel use (since you Nazis are afraid to approach China, who uses more than anyone else) will stop hurricanes entirely, you REALLY are stupid.

I'd be more worried if I were you, living in a ghetto ,  overtaxed poorly educated blue state, where the welfare state guarantees higher crime rates.

Since I moved here, (in 1984) I've experienced TWO major hurricanes that involved structure damage and power loss. I was also in Texas in 83 for Hurricane Alicia, which tore the shit out of Houston. Between that time and now, hurricanes tore the hell out of Mexico and other Gulf spots. Hurricanes are a part of nature. Only an extra chromosome mor0n somehow thinks hurricanes didn't exist before weather people decided to name them. And only a fool thinks American fossil fuel use causes hurricanes.

I worry more about a NAZI regime (formerly known as the Democrats) turning America into a Venezueal type socialist shithole. Weather doesn't scare me. You goose steppers do.

Already, there are no more legitimate elections. That's the first step.

Hurricanes have caused $175B in damage to FL since 1975. It's why your insurance is through the roof (if you still have one) LMAO

1975–1999[edit]

220px-Andrew_1992-08-23_1231Z_%28Cropped%29.png Hurricane Andrew approaching South Florida in August 1992.

In the period between 1975 and 1999, 83 tropical or subtropical cyclones affected the state, which collectively resulted in $51.1 billion (2017 dollars) in damage, primarily from Hurricane Andrew, and 54 direct casualties. The 1985 season was the year with the most tropical cyclones affecting the state, with a total of eight systems. Every year included at least one tropical cyclone affecting the state. The strongest hurricane to hit the state during the period was Hurricane Andrew, which was one of only four Category 5 hurricanes to strike the United States. Andrew, at the time, was the costliest tropical cyclone in United States history and remains the seventh-costliest. Additionally, Hurricanes Eloise, Elena, and Opal hit or otherwise impacted the state as major hurricanes.

2000–present[edit]

170px-Beach_front_home_damaged_by_hurricane_dennis_2005.jpg A beachfront home in Navarre Beach largely destroyed by Hurricane Dennis

The period from 2000 to the present has been marked by several devastating North Atlantic hurricanes; as of 2017, 79 tropical or subtropical cyclones have affected the U.S. state of Florida. Collectively, cyclones in Florida over that period resulted in over $123 billion in damage, most of it from Hurricane Irma.[9] Additionally, tropical cyclones in Florida were responsible for 145 direct fatalities and at least 92 indirect ones during the period. Eight cyclones affected the state in both 2004 and 2005, which were the years with the most tropical cyclones impacting the state. Every year included at least one tropical cyclone affecting the state.

The strongest hurricane to hit the state during the period was Michael, which made landfall in Florida as a Category 5 hurricane–the strongest since Andrew in 1992. Additionally, hurricanes Charley, Ivan, Jeanne, Dennis, Wilma, Irma, and Ian made landfall on or otherwise impacted the state as major hurricanes.

IOW, you're FOS as usual.

Hurricane Alma was a Class 3 hurricane that hit Florida in June 1966.

Every other Class 3 or higher hurricane to hit Florida arrived between August and October.

Florida has never in recorded history been hit by a Class 3+ hurricane in July.

But only a total MOR0N thinks that somehow fossil fuels caused the hurricanes to single out Florida.

Wait! Hurricanes also hit Mexico, and the Carolinas, and the New England states, (in the form of a Noreaster)

In 1999, Hurricane Floyd was about to hit Florida from the east. We were living in Orlando at the time. We bought extra food, batteries, and we hunkered down. (I had previous hurricane experience from Alicia, in east Texas).

The storm glanced off the coast and headed up to the Carolinas. It hit the Tidewater region (which in Carolina speak means RECLAIMED SWAMP LAND.) My former home of Rocky Mount wound up having the WORST flooding of all time. Entire neighborhoods were submerged.  The mall I hung out at as a teenager was completely submerged.

But you goose steppers think only Florida can get hit by hurricanes? Are you stupid?

By the way, SINCE YOU ARE SO FCKING STUPID ABOUT INSURANCE, rates are not based on the numbers of hurricanes hitting the islands. The rates are based on how much money is paid out in claims. And insurance companies BY LAW have to maintain a legal reserve amount to be able to pay claims, otherwise the government shuts the company down.

To save the insurance company money in paying out claims, (by the way, you might as well find a college professor to 'splain this to you, because you're too fcking stupid to grasp this) clients are separated into classes. Classes of people in areas less likely to be hit by storms or floods (or houses that cost less to fix) will pay lower premiums than classes of people in areas like Miami, Key West, etc.

The thing driving up homeowners insurance premiums is the cost of repairing homes. This is something you BLUE STATE math teacher never prepared you for.

Who give's a rat's ass? Humans have NO CONTROL over hurricanes, either their creation or their direction. Only the few extra chromosome liberals somehow imagine that Texans driving SUVS can change the temperature of a planet and create hurricanes.

If you're wondering why everyone says you're so STUPID, it's your belief system.  It's not based on anything but bullshit.

this type of what-about-ism would get old with most people.. but the typical internet forum poster can say the same thing thousands of times and be adamantly convinced that the 1002nd repetition is interesting and insightful when the 987th was not. Weather is unpredictable more than a few days out. A few years ago.. we were supposed to have a sunny 75 degree day on a monday. Well, come monday.. we got a foot of snow.

Another aspect to the typical internet forum poster... assuming. If I do not align with your view 100% then you assume (wrongly 99% of the time) that I must have the opposing view.

lets be clear.. chicken little, sky is falling stuff does not work with me regardless of who is saying it or the topic. Take a deep breath and put your passions aside and read that last sentence carefully. Your passion/zealousness keeps you from practicing simple reading comprehension.

Verifying information on today's hottest topics, like the endless indictments on Trump during campaign season.

first.. any standard media outlet is reinterpreting something. No matter how they spin it.. they are still spinning it. They have to. If you wrote that "John Doe said this and Jane Doe said that"... you readership plummets. So if you want to avoid the inevitable subjective spin.. I watch the hearings but lately been too busy. Reading the court transcripts also gives you a less biased view.

It really depends on the topic. If it is labor market or economic.. I go to the raw data. I do not need some talking head to interpret the information for me.
