being a Californian Beatnik, my father of course had exquisite taste

my room was adorned by Van Gogh, Picasso, Henry Moore, Jackson Pollok

I didn't know much about it then

but I trusted his judgment

this was when I got into modern art in a big way

My father was a man of science rather than art.

The only piece of contemporary art I remember hanging on the wall of the family home was a print of a painting by Rolf Harris portraying a tree in the outback sunset. I suspect it was chosen for its 1970s in vogue orange hues rather than any artistic merit.

My mother was the creative one, I still remember turning up at primary school wearing a tie made from leftover lime green and yellow floral material matching the living room curtains. ?

It's a miracle I didn't grow up to be a serial killer.

you would have loved my father

sorry you will never get to meet him

you two were kindred souls

thus why you are my surrogate father

of anyone I have ever encountered, you are the most like him

tho I would have got along swimmingly with your father of course

two Soldiers of the Crown, enjoying pints in the Mess

I don't think that ticket ban is active.

Know of someone flying in for the Leafs game there, today and staying 1 week for Wed's game.

Unless, they got around it, it appears Florida has opened the gates. All that money wasted now if the Leafs lose there. Everyone has their hobby.

Wed, May 10 at 7 pm.

I read it was only valid until May 2nd and only enforced to give the locals a chance to buy a ticket first.

I'm still convinced we were switched at birth.

Dad wasn't really a drinker.

He once told me the other men used to call him a poof because he wouldn't go drinking with them.

Ironically he was far more interested in chasing totty than drinking beer.

While they were down the pub he was likely to be bedding their girlfriends.

my father was all about chasing totty

but there would be plenty of drinking involved

my father could hold his liquor with a bird under each arm

The Panthers have a pesky team, plus a red hot Bobrovsky. I call the series to end 4-1, as Leafs win one for pride.

With Samsonov out through injury now I'm not sure we'll even get the one for pride.

Taken out by his own teammate Schein too. ?

even my father gave up on the Leafs eventually

he had an Hispanic girlfriend down in San Jose

he used to fly down there to go hockey games with her

he flipped to being a Sharks supporter then

A mere marriage of convenience. I'm sure he still bled Leafs blood when he was cut.

when I bleed blue & white, that is the St. Andrew's Cross

I don't view the Leafs as having anything to do with that anymore

they've completely sold out, to become a soulless corporate entity run from Manhattan in New York

According to DNA my blood is 71% English 13% Scots and an assortment of ''other'' but it is still 100% Leafs, as are my tears.

all I see is Gary Bettman and the desperately Woke NHL in New York

that's just not my team

I will remain with Conn Smythe & Harold Ballard

who would both say that the Leafs have sold out to the Communists

Wasn't Ballard a cad of the highest order?

A man whose curse we still suffer?

not at all, Pal Hal was a gentleman of the first order

he just despised Communism and all the leftist dirt hippies overrunning Toronto back in the 70's

in terms of running the team, Pal Hal was on the team that won four Stanley Cups

he played a key role in hockey operations from 1962 to 1967

Harold Ballard has four Stanley Cup Rings

how many does MLSE have ?
