Contrarian
Giorgia Meloni, Italy's next prime minister, spoke on the phone with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday, to whom she promised her "full support" for Ukraine, her Fratelli d'Italia party announced, according to The Guardian. In one of her first calls with a foreign leader since winning the election last week, Meloni "underlined her commitment to any diplomatic effort useful to end the conflict" with Russia, the party said in a statement. It added that Zelenski would have invited Meloni to visit Kiev as soon as possible and would have expressed his gratitude for the weapons that Italy sent to Ukraine following the Russian invasion. Further m: as if conservative Boris Johnson hadn’t already steered UK into an economic tailspin, along comes Truss who pours gas on the dumpster fire with more debunked “trickle down economics” tax cuts for the ultra-rich and corporations which resulted in massive flight of capital and the British pound spinning out of control . Only a few weeks into her unelected term and she’s already had to make a major reversal reverse her nee budget and her finance minister and key ally has resigned in disgrace for following her loony orders. Sounds like she’s not going to be elected when she finally runs for office as PM Edited October 18, 2022 by BeaverFever

How many heads will explode around here if yet another nation freely elects a conservative? Looks like voting Trump in was just being ahead of the curve. Well I don’t know what school you went to but 1 out 3 was well behind the curve where most people come. from. Try to keep your head from exploding. Let’s see how many leaders get replaced in the next 3 months.
Contrarian
I tend to agree with this analysis from this proffesor after some days passed now: "We have seen something of a metamorphosis," said Sofia Ventura, a political science professor at Bologna University. "She has been more moderate with her comments than when she was in opposition and has clearly understood that she needed to change her profile to be a credible international leader."
