"This is a horrible and very unfair situation," Trump wrote. "The real crimes were on the other side, as nothing happens to them. Cannot allow this miscarriage of justice!"

What about the miscarriage of justice Trump is contributing to by not bringing charges against these horrible criminals?

Hasn't he been paying attention to what voters want - "Lock 'em up, Lock 'em up, Lock 'em up" - what is he waiting for?

Maybe he’s just an anarchist.

The corollary to this, of course, is if the Department of Justice will plead for leniency for the criminal they have just convicted because Trump told them to, they will just as vehemently demand lengthy prison terms for anyone who offends Trump. DOJ under Barr have already shown their willingness to investigate whoever Trump tells them he wants investigating. I'm not sure how far away they are from actively faking evidence too. But I know Trump would appreciate the effort, and perhaps actively encourage it.

I like the direction the US has taken since he’s been in charge, but I don’t really like him. But then I never liked Obummer neither.

There's really little to like about many of them at all but like Trump_2020 Bush_Cheney 2004 says Trump is just another President and as such I like the unabashed face he's put on America or more to the point the mask he's ripped off it.

It's why I've been saying go Trump go for years now.  Like a drunk hitting rock bottom America really needs to see what it doesn't need to get a better appreciation for what it does.  I hope it only takes 4 more years.

A Conservative Judge Draws a Line in the Sand With Trump Administration

"Outraged the attorney general had ignored a court order, he authors a blistering opinion rebuking William Barr for overstepping his constitutional authority."

The courts were the last vestige of the rule of law for this administration... its over.

another 4 years is all he needs... he will change the constitution to remove any restrictions on terms. states will complain that they have to participate by law and the Tyrant will simply ignore them.

he is above the law now.

Do you have any idea of the process to amend the constitution?  He literally has no chance to do that.  Look it up.

The process? He takes a sharpy and changes it. Whos going to stop him? This is what he's done with everything else. Its his MO.

That's weird then.  Why is he even running for re-election?  Why doesn't he just change the law right?  Take a sharpy to it?  Why are things he's doing getting held up by judges orders?  Why does he even listen to any of that?  Why doesn't he change that too?  You sound ridiculous.

Presidents are largely above the law anyways. Don’t forget they sometimes order people killed. No judge, no jury.

Its generally frowned upon when its strictly self serving... Not anymore.

No, he edges. He constantly explores the edges for weakness and if he doesn't find it then he keeps hammering. Its only a matter of time to have those contoled by populist ideology to weaken to whatever he desires. It just needs time. Its a model that works when systems are not in place to protect against it. And Trump has shown that those measures are not robust enough to prevent it. Because he has no shame and is completely ego driven and he has modeled the R party as the party of one.

They're recommending 7-9 years for Stone for doing the exact same things that Bill Clinton did.....

How many years did Clinton do for those crimes, exactly? Zero seconds, plus or minus zero seconds. He was disbarred from practicing law, that's it. The Senate even acquitted him of his impeachment. Some of those who voted against impeaching the obstruction of justice, witness-tampering B Clinton were winners like: "Quid Pro Quo" Joe Biden, Ted "Killer" Kennedy, the longest serving Dem Senator of all time - Grand Wizard Byrd, John "Felonius" Edwards, Dick Durbin, Diane Feinstein, Check Schumer....

Of course 7-9 years is too much. The precedent has already been set for this crime during these types of proceedings.

its pure banana dictatorship at this point...

An actual Banana dictatorship moment is when you start an investigation into someone to see if they have ever committed any crimes, instead of investigating an actual crime to find out who did it.

Eg, paying foreign agents to fabricate some bogus accusations against a political opponent, getting deep-state toadies to lie about the validity of the accusations and testifying that they were independently corroborated when you know that they weren't to a FISA court judge to get a warrant to spy on that opponent, opening a public smear campaign disguised as an investigation on that person when you have no evidence that they committed a crime - just in the hopes of finding something damaging about them, letting the public slander go on for years after you know for certain that there was never any crime of any sort committed, arresting that person's associates for completely unrelated crimes and offering them reduced sentences for bearing false witness against them, saying that those assocites were arrested for crimes related to the bogus investigation when they were actually arrested for tax evasion that took place two decades earlier (which they were already aware of but didn't act on them for some reason).

That is an actual list of actual banana republic stuff that happened godzilla, your little hissy list is just a joke.

I read the Politico article, they quoted Adam Schiff, so it's officially garbage.

The guy who narrated the "Honey Badger Doesn't Give A Shit" video has more credibility.

so, theres something wrong with snooping for "old" crimes? is that illegal? actually... its not. and for good reason. a crime is a crime my friend.

but yeah, not sure who the dictator is in your banana republic but i guess they are winning... since Manafort, Cohen and Papadopoulos are in jail or just got out. and Flynn, Gates and Stone are getting fitted for orange jumpsuits as we speak.

all Trump has to do is wave his hand and they will be free! what is Trump waiting for?

if Trumps enemies are guilty then... he should get them arrested. not happening so far. he's had three and a half years. not "winning" so far. haha!

but hey, Trump was just told that he can do anything and never be kicked out of office by the senate so maybe there will finally be some "winning".

Yes, it actually is. That's KGB crackdown 101: "You show me the man and I'll find the crime". It doesn't even have to be real, just like it wasn't when they tried that topic on Trump re: collusion. You just make the accusation and it's up to the guilty to prove they're innocent

The fact that guilty people are in jail doesn't bug me, the fact that people who didn't actually commit crimes were sent to jail really bugs me.

People who interviewed Flynn said that he never actually lied to the FBI but he's going to jail, and people like Hillary and all the members of the FBI who actually did lie to the FISA court aren't going to jail for whatever reason.

Lol.

Clinton was busted for witness tampering, lying under oath, and obstruction of justice. Same as Stone, basically.

what you're implying is that the system of justice in the US, judges and juries made of members of the public... is corrupt. its not Russia... i mean, not yet anyways.
