Dougie93 Posted November 17, 2019 Report Posted November 17, 2019 Bill Clinton ran on the left for his first term, but it was a disaster, so he swung hard right in the second term with Triangulation.
Dougie93 Posted November 17, 2019 Report Posted November 17, 2019 George W. Bush handed out a lot of candy to old white people, including me : repealed the inheritance tax, bless you, George W. Bush.

You guys are blowing the thread up with your leftist wishful thinking, I'm just trying to tell you, when the shit hits the fan, the masses don't run to the NDP The masses will be in a rage, looking for scapegoats, and right wing demagogues will pounce. If people went left, then Bernie Sanders would be POTUS, it's Donald Trump, because Americans are in a rage in the wake of 2008 They are scapegoating. Trade, immigrants and left wingers are the targets. For a Barry Goldwater Republican like me, he's simply a means to an end, I'm just after the SCOTUS. Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, Barrett, that will be mission accomplished, then we will rule long after Trump is gone. Edited November 17, 2019 by Dougie93

I voted for him because of this. I knew it would be as it is, which a mess out of the gate, but to end prohibition long term, I was willing to throw him a vote. Plus I was punishing Stephen Harper for doing nothing for nine years. I was going to vote for him again, just to sow more chaos, but I decided that since I've disavowed Canada, it wouldn't be right for me to vote as a Canadian anymore.
Dougie93 Posted November 17, 2019 Report Posted November 17, 2019 Plus it doesn't even matter, because the Elite Consensus cannot be voted out and the opposition is fake, so voting in Canada is a sham anyways.
Dougie93 Posted November 17, 2019 Report Posted November 17, 2019 The problems in Canada cannot be solved by voting, the problem is the Charter, the Charter is a poison pill, it's not a bill of rights, it's a Trojan horse for the far left. All your supposed rights come with the caveat "reasonable" and what is reasonable is made up as they go, by left wing activist judges. And there's no property rights in the charter, and without property rights, you can't secure any other rights. You can't open the constitutions up in Canada, because they'll never get the provinces to agree on anything now. So Canada is basically screwed and doomed to become a left wing totalitarian regime, inexorably. Hence why I keep my American passport handy, for when things get too absurd to tolerate up here anymore.
