Really Dia? How many of the 'modern Muslim' ladies where make up now? Lots! My youngest daughter tells me the younger female Muslim generation is going to change. Many of them are starting with the make up, shaving, perfect eyebrows. Hope she is correct.

There is nothing wrong with dressing sexy. Depends where your going. I like being a girl and having so many options for clothing, hair, etc.

Absolutely zero wrong with being a girl.

The Quran/Hadiths state a woman's worth...you've no doubt heard at some point. Half that of a man...at least...often less when it comes to legal questions.

She's trying to slut-shame Western women.  Don't fall for it.

Thanks Goddess! I really enjoy typing your username :):) I am not falling for it. I have had enough personal experiences to know. I am surrounded here in my hometown.

A thing good looking women don't worry about.

There seems to be no in-between with her - either all women  dress to enhance their sexuality or they're panic-stricken that someone may recognize them as being female.

I think most women know if they've "got it" or not in terms of looking sexy. But that's just my humble experience with the fairer sex.

That explains a lot of cab drivers in my city.

Ok. I'm confused. You really have no argument. This is about men not women. Who in the world would pluck armpit hairs? Ouch :(

I grew up this way. My parents owned a boat - cabin cruiser. We spent all summer on the water, living in our bathing suits. All I was trying to prove is your religion is restricting. I guess you like it?

i could not imagine growing up and living with a head / skin covering outfit every day and maybe being a little risque sometimes and wear a top with 3/4 sleeve :) If your happy living that way, great! Sorry. I guess you know what you know. There were no Hijabs or Burkas in my world then.

Bill 21 should be law all across Canada.

Islam is restricting.

you have neglected to answer much of my replies to you.

The hadith is about both. The discussion mainly about women I believe.

It isn't the only way you can do it, but one gets used to it.

Your sister might find it 'freeing' to have no choice in the matter. Other people value freedom.

My sister is living the life she chose.  Why is her choice invalidated or devalued because other women have either more or less "freedom" than my sister?

So now your agreeing? As a Muslim, you do not have 'freedom'. Canada is a free country. You can say goodbye to Islam anytime you want. You will get lots of support :)

Bill 21 is a great start. Keep religion out of our schools and public office.

Anyways I think you and I have done enough sharing of opinions. Like I said before if your happy, merveilleuse :)

I'm not.  You are trying to equate my distaste for fundamentalist Islamic covering (which is normal) with some kind of nuerosis or preoccupation with dress like your sister and Islam  has.

That's laughable, considering how often you are on here claiming women in Muslim dress are either extremists or oppressed.  No middle ground for you.

Also, my sister never talks about this stuff unless I ask her - and I ask her because she provides a perspective that neither I nor any of you have.

Perhaps the neurosis lies with those who are preoccupied with how Muslim women dress in order to implicate them as either extremists or victims.

Yes, the ONLY problem with burkas and hijabs is the people who think they're an extreme, fundamentalist religious garb.  What a bunch of nutters, right???

You advocate for unlimited religious freedom for Islam - unlimited in the sense that to you - religious freedom to do whatever one wishes, with no concern for others - is THE most important freedom in Canada.  It is not.  It's you that is wrong.

How are women wearing hijab bothering you, again?  Oh, you personally don't like it because because only extremists or.victims.wear hijab in your world.  Hijab wearing women have done nothing to harm you we continue to enhance progressive human rights and to reduce violence against women through education and laws.

The same goes for women wearing niqab, women wearing bonnets, men and women wearing turbans, men wearing beards, men wearing tunics and funny hats, and people wearing crucifixes.  Not one of these groups has done anything in Canada that justifies you having their personal freedoms limited because your assumptions about Muslim women make you uncomfortable.

The funiest was when I told you about my neighbour, who doesn't allow his wife outside the home without a buka and cuffs her across the head as they go to the car.  You condemned me for "jumping to the conclusion" that he doesn't respect women.

Just another example of how you excuse anything done in Islam and condemn those who call it out.

It's a misogynistic, extreme, fundamentalist propaganda dress that harms society - men, women and children - and by extension - me and all other women.

It harms women all over the world.  That you refuse to acknowledge this is very telling.

Also interesting that you view me as the radical when I dress however I want, while your sister is "free" while obeying the dictates of her religion and her husband.

Very much like ISIS thinking.  They must be so proud of you.

Do you think she even realizes how closely her propaganda and goals matches that of ISIS?

Too funny.  ISIS publucized in Dabiq that one goal of their terror attacks was to generate fear and loathing of Muslins among Westerners, so that Muslims would return to their own countries and/or take up arms against the West.  And here you are, along with DoP,  Argus  scribblet and now Teena, happily following that playbook.

I fail to see how advocating for freedom of religion against people who want to limit such freedom puts me in the same camp as ISIS, but I suppose twisting things enough will get ya there.
