My beef is with people who criticize American hegemony and run to america asking for aid when the baddies bully them... like how hypocritical can you get.

You can be a shiny beacon for liberty while siccing dictators on people...you have no sense of how ridiculous you look when you turn to the world with a proverbial "what", do you?

I don’t criticize American power as a force for good. With power comes responsibility. Anyone with power can abuse people for selfish gain.  History is full of stories of misused power.  The challenge is to show restraint when necessary and exert power for the right reasons.  It’s basically the same function as being an authoritative parent.

Except in this case the parent is all too often comparable to a dangerously out of control drunk. The appropriate function then is to intervene. That's why I often say friends don't let friends drive for a reason when talking about our relationship with the uncouth barbarians to the south of us.

American power since 1945 has for all intents and purposes been projected by way of liberal international institutions.

Particularly as to military power by the United Nations, by either UNSC Chapter 7 Resolution and/or UN Article 51 Declaration.

Blaming lefties...how quaint.

Classically liberal, which is well to the right of the Commune and associated Terror, see; John Locke, Adam Smith, David Hume, Edmund Burke, etcetera

Yes, I have noticed that classical liberalism, which actually resembles modern conservatism, is often confused with modern liberalism, which leans toward democratic socialism.

Of course...So you're saying the UN isn't the ground zero of communist terrorism? See Pol Pot, Mao, Trudeau etc etc?

The UN is a debating club, the Security Council however, enforces Chapter 7 and Article 51, which are the international legal underpinnings for armed conflict in the American Hegenomy.

Actions speak louder than words...as in all those uranium shipments since WW2, complimented by dilbit supplied by pipelines enthusiatically built going south.

Driving drunk is far easier when "friends" supply the liquor to make money.

What drunk driving tho?

The purpose of an Hegenomy to wit, Superpower, is to prevent and preclude major interstate wars.

By way of Dr. Teller, the American Hegenomy is in fact the first in history to ever rise to the occasion.

Such a Hegemon is of course welcome to her whiskey, if only to toast a job well done.

True...but even when the hegemon outlawed real whiskey, Canada was more than happy to smuggle plenty across the border.

Such is the nature of the CanAm relationship, no matter what the America haters may say.

Prohibition, the battle for the soul of the nation from the Great Awakening on.

I of course stand against the Dry's and their hachetation, death to the Temperance Lady I say, to the lampposts with her.

None the less, she brought herself down, by corrupting all governance in the nation, the same way that Canadian Confederation cripples British North America.

To save the nation, the Dry's were brought to heel.   A clarity act in effect.
