I'm not clear on what issues these two have in common other than the fact both are regional parties with a parlimentary presence that is vastly disproportinate to the amount of support they have. So I don't forsee any formal coalition between the two.

I agree. The only reason for their cooperation now is to down the government. Beyond that, there is next to zero reason for them to form a coalition.

The two parties voted together in what amounts to a non-cofidence motion. That's it; that's all.

There is no guarantee that they'll vote together in the future.

The cons cant' work with anybody except the Bloc.

They've demonstrated they can't be trusted to vote for a budget, even when they negotiated for one. (They just sat down.)

So yeah, they'll have to work for the Bloc.

The two do have one overriding plank in common. That is the reduction of the federal government to impotence. For both, that is the most important, to them, of their beliefs.

I think we need to try the conservative. A majority government if possible. If the liberal get elected after what they did, i think its gonna look very bad for the futur of this country. It would be bad for the democracy, for the integrity of this country and for the unity.

If the liberal win a minority government, im sure the parliament still won't work, nobody will want to work with the liberal except the ndp and the constitutional crisis would continue.

Please explain why the reelection of the Liberals would cause a crisis? Would the Seperatists be upset and vote for the Bloc? And would the Western Seperatists vote for the CPC? Oh dear...

Surely it is obvious?

The Liberals are going to be wiped out entirely in Quebec. If the Libs are re-elected nationally, it will be without any federalist presence in Quebec. Step one in crisis. Step 1A when Duceppe takes over as PQ chief and wipes out the Provincial Liberals.

The West will be left with a few nominal Liberals. That means that Ontario and the Maritimes will constitute the Liberal government. The regions will all be polarized. Many many Canadians will be left with the conclusion that their participation in Canada is pointless, that Ontario runs the show, and that Ontarians will tolerate theft of taxpayers money.

We are becoming a nation of selfish regions. Why wouldn't we though, with the federal govt endlessly meddling with the provinces responsibilities, while making one -off financial deals aty the same time. The Politics of Division. Thanks Jean, thanks Paul.

All of that equals crisis. I feel Canada as a country is on increasingly shaky ground. A Liberal win would be disastrous.

This country will be in big trouble if the liberals are put back in.

We all know they are a bunch of thiefs and crooks ,but some will chose thieves and crooks just because Stephen Harper is from Alberta . Why wouldn't the west be pissed? Letting men govern tax dollars that we know have a history of missuse just because Ontario's people could not stand the thought of a western primeminister . This western prime minister might of been a honest man ,but because hes from Alberta he can't make it as prime minister even when running against known crooks and thiefs and liers .

I think we deserve a relief from liberal mismanagement of our tax dollars if it means taking a chance on a western prime minister , lets do it . Smarten up Ontario your going to break Canada up . 4-5 years with an Albertan running this country will not ruin Canada . Putting back a bunch of Known crooks will ruin Canada as they will steal again especially if they win a majority after so much scandle being overlooked.
