...and NK is quite far down this path. They are able to produce their own fuel rods and such from raw or low processed Uranium...

Yes, thanks to Klinton giving them reactors and a pass on complying with the no weapons clause

Plutonium, actually. China supplies the raw Uranium for NKs reactors (some Canadian help there)...but it gets turned into weapons grade Plutonium-239 @ Yongbyon.

Yes...even 400km up as they'd just need a sample of the remaining fallout. Old school...shooting a sounding rocket would provide the details of the isotope soup present. Although spectro-analysis can probably do the deed these days...

And how hard would it be for Russia to get its hands on that uranium from NK reactors? Especially if they bought it on one pretext or another?

?

Not sure where you're going. China supplies the stuff.

You want to worry about proliferation...look to Pakistan...the WORST.

I'm wondering how hard it would be for the Russians to disguise the origin of the weapon. I know it wouldn't be too outlandish for them to want America gone, nor would it be hard to put a mobile launcher across the border in NK.

And btw, another huge concern is will NK sell it's nukes to countries like Iran given their need for cash.

I suspect Iran has a working example via Pakistan...would explain a lot of their bravado.

Uncle Vlad would hardly like to see the Yanks go away in a nuclear holocaust, as it would not be good for business.   He needs a boogeyman to keep him looking like the strong man that his constituents worship so he can continue to rob the place blind.

Canada is not likely 12% to be destroyed, but 12% likely to be temporarily disabled.

I'm praying for peace.  With North Korea threatening the U.S. with nuclear weapons and working on building an ICBM there is lots to consider.   But now Iran has been making some statements lately and that raises concerns.  Actually Iran might be a bigger threat in the long run because it is a far larger and more developed country than N. Korea.  Iran already has nuclear reactors and can probably produce the ingredients for hydrogen bombs.  I understand the deal signed with Iran does not include the right of the UN to go anywhere unannounced to inspect the country for violations of the non-nuclear agreement.  That was signed by Obama's administration I believe.  Very bad deal if they can't be monitored.
