betsy
Can you not bury these cadavers, and let them rest in peace in the archives? Why can't we start new threads of similar topics? These foolish penny-pinching is making this forum look as dead as the ancients! It looks so pathetic when you look at a glance at the line up of topics, and some of them are dated at least 5 years ago! What's the real reason why we have to use these ancient threads for present-day vehicles? Can someone please explain that?
?Impact
Why did you start a new topic when this has already been discussed? 2

betsy
Well? What's the reason why we have to ride on the backs of ancient threads? Why can't we create fresh threads? Edited March 15, 2017 by betsy
Forum Admin Greg Posted March 20, 2017 Forum Admin Report Share Posted March 20, 2017 It's certainly possible for me to archive (which means they can be viewed, but not posted in) older forum threads. I just never saw this as a priority in the past. What does everything think?
bcsapper
I would be against it. The post is new, who cares how old the thread is?

I responded to topic that says "New Moderator." I thought we have a new moderator....until I saw the date 2007. Computers from 2007 are "dinosaurs" by now - and things are happening fast - so why not keep up with the times? In some forums, you get an infraction for resurrecting an old thread (I made that mistake by doing what we do here and doing it there. I thought I was doing them a favor by using an old thread). Moderator closed the thread down and promptly buried it again, with a terse warning (to them, more than a year old is ancient)....... and now, I can understand why. You see a bunch of old dates, and you know it's a struggling forum. Posters want to participate in a moving forum. A forum want to be busy........or to seem busy (even if it isn't). If there's no movement to a thread for more than a year, it should go to the archive. Threads in the archive are locked.
