jbg
I can't wait until people who applaud Cruz's integrity try to make it OK when Sanders (who has been openly shafted by the media and DNC) stumps for Hillary. I'll have no problem given that I'm a left-wing extremist myself.
Hal 9000
I'll have no problem given that I'm a left-wing extremist myself. So, the issue is not really about Cruz's integrity, it's more about cheering on somebody to slag Trump. Fair enough, Trump seems to thrive on people attacking him only to see them die on their sword. Big Guy
I suggest that when some politicians are asked to place the following into a prioritized list: Family, Country, Integrity, Party, Ambition, Religion That the order may differ from the rest of us. If Cruz has different priorities - good on him. He did right by his family if that's what we want to believe, if his priority is the next election, the so be it. The fact is; he did kill and chance of political advancement with that speech. Trump is a master of caudal luring - and as far as i'm concerned, Cruz took the bait. If you are referring to political advancement in the Trump Republican Party then I agree with you. But if Trump is defeated and the moderates (moderate compared to Trump) take back the party then Cruz will be hailed. I have no use for Cruz but I think he just cemented a bright future with the post-Trump Republican Party.

Yeah, that was said on the TV last night, i'm not surprised to hear in now.
Derek 2.0
Trump is a master of caudal luring - and as far as i'm concerned, Cruz took the bait. I certainly agree.......as noted, the Trump team vetted Cruz's speech beforehand then had the New York delegation start booing as planned, followed by Trump's "grand entrance" during the speech and RNC security escorting out Cruz's wife during the speech.........Trump torpedoed Cruz. And Cruz was hoisted by his own petard, by not only team Trump, but by the RNC.
Argus
The time to get tough was during the campaign. Instead, Cruz initially let others do the hard lifting against Trump while he drafted along in his slipstream. He was the most talented candidate in the field but I think there will be even less of a market next time round for what he is selling. Cruz sucked up to Trump the way Christie is doing now, in hopes of having his support when Trump eventually bowed out. It was only when the field narrowed and it became obvious Trump was staying that he finally began to criticize him. As for being the most talented - at what? At being a sleazy, lying huckster and weasel? The only halfway sane and moderate guy in the race was Bush.
