bush_cheney2004
Well, maybe one way. Saying more than that might be pushing it. At least two ways: 1) More Americans fleeing to Canada (Trudeau loves to give welfare to refugees). 2) Keystone XL gets approved. Quote Economics trumps Virtue. WestCoastRunner
Well, maybe one way. Saying more than that might be pushing it. An IT firm (sortable) in Ontario is recruiting in the US (tongue in cheek) attempting to draw more candidates if Trump wins. Quote I love to see a young girl go out and grab the world by the lapels. bush_cheney2004
Looking back on this Trudeau - Trump thing, I don't recall that Americans were particularly worried about the Liberals getting a ruling majority in Canada, or whom the party leadership would be. The last one, Michael Ignatieff, scurried back across the border to Harvard. I would guess that the majority of Americans really didn't care either way, hardly knowing that there was an election at all. Trump gets them much more excited. Quote Economics trumps Virtue. Argus
I don't recall having heard any of the three others you mention barking out the racist, xenophobic, comments/insults that would foment such reaction to their campaigns. Trump has made his own bed. How is that relevant? Trump is saying stuff people don't like. So don't vote for him and don't go to his rallies. It wouldn't occur to me to go and see a Trudeau rally, or one for Mulcair. Just so I could shout out insults. Scott Mayers
... But for Canadians, as with the Mexicans, politically and economically, this could be troublesome as regardless, he appears to be more strictly adamant to preserve American-only interests at ANY means. And this can be very dangerous for those he counts on to exploit for profit. Then he would be consistent with many U.S. presidents past. A President Trump should be more concerned with American interests. The leaders of Canada and Mexico should make choices in their own nations' interests as well. Perhaps. But then it IS in our interest to prevent him from succeeding isn't it? Especially since his degree of interest is to be more Nationalistic and demanding walls to be built. See http://www.cbc.ca/news/trending/donald-trump-canada-president-south-park-1.3244926for a humorous take on this!
BC_chick
There are two things here. First, there are disruptive protesters at almost every Trump event. I've never liked the idea of people showing up a a political speech given by someone they don't like to try to interrupt it. I don't blame him for getting irritated. This is a very obnoxious tactic usually employed by the Left, both in the US and in Canada. Second, no one has been hurt at a Trump event, despite this. The media being aghast at the 'violence' at Trump's events is wildly overblown. Remember that #whichhillary protestor who was *not* sucker punched by Clinton supporters? Remember her supporters just 'ssss'd' their annoyance over her talking until security removed her? Contrast that with Trump who encourages supporters to beat up protestors and offers to pay their legal fees if they do. Yuge difference.
