Scotty Posted November 19, 2015 Report Posted November 19, 2015 (edited) For those folks who think that Canadians should stay and bomb: You still think this is a good idea? Yes, very much so. Although realistically we need to persuade someone to put soldiers in there to dig the roaches out of their holes and kill them all. Edited November 19, 2015 by Scotty Quote It is an inverted moral calculus that tries to persuade the world to demonize one state that tries its civilized best to abide in a difficult time and place, and rides merrily by the examples and practices of dozens of states and leaderships that drop into brutality every day without a twinge of regret or a whisper of condemnation. - Rex Murphy
eyeball Posted November 20, 2015 Report Posted November 20, 2015 I hope so to but sensibly. This shouldn't be about JT trying to make himself look good by keeping a stupid promise to get them here by the end of the year. Oh c'mon, it's not like Trudeau is the only politician who's tried using the misery of the region to boost his image. Argus Posted November 24, 2015 Report Posted November 24, 2015 Saying there is a proxy war between Russia, China and the west over oil is not a conspiracy theory. Most people acknowledge that. Maybe among the people you hang out with... Argus Posted November 24, 2015 Report Posted November 24, 2015 (edited) I have no desire whatsoever to nuke anyone. I merely note that Truman's decision created alot of good for the world. Nowadays, we all enjoy the benefits of the work of many Japanese and Germans. In other words, you have to stand up to nasty people. Thinking the other side is going to be reasonable if only you are is a recipe for disaster when dealing with unreasonable groups and peoples. When you can't negotiate you hammer them over the head until they either give up or die. msj Posted November 25, 2015 Report Posted November 25, 2015 So, has Paris turned out to be a problem for Trudeau yet? Quote If a believer demands that I, as a non-believer, observe his taboos in the public domain, he is not asking for my respect but for my submission. And that is incompatible with a secular democracy. Flemming Rose (Dutch journalist) My biggest takeaway from economics is that the past wasn't as good as you remember, the present isn't as bad as you think, and the future will be better than you anticipate. Smallc Posted November 25, 2015 Report Posted November 25, 2015 (edited) So, has Paris turned out to be a problem for Trudeau yet? It seems like everyone has basically forgot about the whole jet thing. Edit: oh, that's because they're still there. Trudeau, even smarter than I thought. On the other hand, hysteria has already died down. Basically, barring another major attack, he can now bring them home when he wants without any one really caring. SpankyMcFarland Posted November 27, 2015 Report Posted November 27, 2015 The skies over Syria may become a lot trickier to navigate given the recent events between Turkey and Russia. There's a serious possibility of more planes being shot down, perhaps by mistake. Quote
