ReeferMadness Posted October 16, 2015 Report Posted October 16, 2015 No I was not much of a Vander Zalm fan, but I did land one time in his fantasy gardens. I was kidding. I know it's gotta be Mike. On Guard for Thee Posted October 16, 2015 Report Posted October 16, 2015 I was kidding. I know it's gotta be Mike. No as close as I ever got to Mike was we ended up shootin, the breeze waiting for a plane in YVR and then sat side by each on the short flight to YYJ. But I tell you I was impressed. Very smart, (well at least as much as my dumb ass brain could assess) and very unassuming. Quote
On Guard for Thee Posted October 16, 2015 Report Posted October 16, 2015 I'll tell you whose parsed posts I like if you tell me who your drinking buddy is. OK, wasn't there a tit for tat agreement here? Spill! Quote

ReeferMadness Posted October 16, 2015 Report Posted October 16, 2015 electionprediction.org is now calling Victoria for the Greens. I take no joy if NDP is deprived of the seat - Murray Rankin is a good guy. But the Greens need another seat. ReeferMadness Posted October 16, 2015 Report Posted October 16, 2015 Thankfully no. If I would have brought my carpentry skills to bear, the carnage likely would have been much worse. So, that's it. It's Glen then. On Guard for Thee Posted October 16, 2015 Report Posted October 16, 2015 So, that's it. It's Glen then. No, as I mentioned, Dan Miller. Quote
ReeferMadness Posted October 16, 2015 Report Posted October 16, 2015 That was going to be my next guess. I thought of him before but he never struck me as the drinking buddy type. BC_chick Posted October 16, 2015 Report Posted October 16, 2015 OK, wasn't there a tit for tat agreement here? Spill! Oh no I was just teasing you because we both left a cryptic post but yours is way more awesome than mine! I'll have to PM mine. And wow, I can't believe your drinking buddy. That's so cool! I do hart NDP amongst the main contenders but the Greens deserve a lot more than they have now. If it wasn't so important to get Harper out, I'd have voted Green 100%. If it wasn't so important to get Harper out, I'd have voted Green 100%. I hope I didn't come off sounding like some kind of name dropper. I just happen to live close to a nice quiet neighborhood pub where politics often gets discussed. Ok, maybe not always so quietly, but fun nevertheless. Quote
BC_chick Posted October 16, 2015 Report Posted October 16, 2015 Not at all. It's really cool. My biggest political run-in story is Elizabeth May (coincidentally) when she came to the restaurant where I was having lunch. I was so star struck I lost my appetite. I would love to be regular at a pub like yours. Quote It's kind of the worst thing that any humans could be doing at this time in human history. Other than that, it's fine." Michael Hardner Posted October 16, 2015 Report Posted October 16, 2015 The 'Politicians I Rub Elbows With' topic is interesting, but maybe should have its own thread. Quote Looks like someone has a new patronizing catch phrase ! Michael Hardner
BC_chick Posted October 16, 2015 Report Posted October 16, 2015 The drift had obviously run it's course since your post came hours later but thank for the policing. ReeferMadness Posted October 17, 2015 Report Posted October 17, 2015 I suspect this is much closer than many think. My breakdown is as follows: Liberals - 129 CPC - 127 NDP - 77 Bloc - 3 Green - 2 Too close to call. Sigh. Given the NDP's actions and discussions with supporters some of who even admitted they aren't democratic I won't be crying too much if Rankin doesn't get elected even if he may be a good MP. Quote
ReeferMadness Posted October 17, 2015 Report Posted October 17, 2015 Glad it made your day but don't break out the champagne. It's still really close. Monday. G Huxley Posted October 17, 2015 Report Posted October 17, 2015 I certainly haven't broken out the champagne. I'm actually expecting a result depressing enough to warrant a binge worthy of the Ford brothers. Quote

G Huxley Posted October 17, 2015 Report Posted October 17, 2015 (edited) My prediction: Liberals get the most seats with 2 more seats that the conservatives, the Bloc 3, Greens 2 and the NDP get the rest. Revised: I'm predicting the Bloc get 6 seats now. Edited October 18, 2015 by G Huxley Quote
ToadBrother Posted October 17, 2015 Report Posted October 17, 2015 My prediction: Liberals get the most seats with 2 more seats that the conservatives, the Bloc 3, Greens 2 and the NDP get the rest. Nope. Liberals will beat the Tories by at least fifteen seats, probably more like twenty. Quote
SpankyMcFarland Posted October 17, 2015 Report Posted October 17, 2015 Nope. Liberals will beat the Tories by at least fifteen seats, probably more like twenty. How does one go about calculating that? Quote ‘How small we make our worlds. Gather them in, tighten them up into little castles of fear.’
ToadBrother Posted October 17, 2015 Report Posted October 17, 2015 How does one go about calculating that? By looking at how badly the NDP are doing. That means the Liberals' vote efficiency goes up. Quote
Smallc Posted October 17, 2015 Report Posted October 17, 2015 By looking at how badly the NDP are doing. That means the Liberals' vote efficiency goes up. If those Quebec numbers keep going the way they are this could be decimating for the NDP. Quote
Canada_First Posted October 18, 2015 Report Posted October 18, 2015 If those Quebec numbers keep going the way they are this could be decimating for the NDP.Conservatives will pick up at least 20 seats in Quebec. Bq will be getting 25. Quote
