It's much better to provide them with the necessities in their own country, and to do what we can to guarantee their peace and safety. How do we do that? There are about twice as many Palestinian refugees (600,000) than are Syrian. Do we tell Israel to stop throwing them off their land and now take back those hundreds of thousands they forced out? I do not think Israel takes our (or any) directions. This conflict has been going on since before the United States existed. It's like different acts of a play. Each nation has a policy of how many immigrants it will accept and how it will prioritize this intake. Nations, including Canada, try to limit immigrants to those who can fill job poitions that are needed and/or have marketable skills that will allow them to look after themselves. In Canada, we already have many illegal immigrants who have arrived by trying to jump the queue and will have difficulty finding work. These new refugees are not some homogeneous mass but very different individuals. There are doctors, lawyers, college graduates - and there are farmers and illiterate unemployed. All nations will be forced to accept some of these refugees either as "special cases" or as illegal immigrants. The first nations to realize this, will take the cream off the top - those educated who are easily assimilated into any society. Those waiting too long will get the left overs. I say Canada should quickly round up our immigration bureaucrats, send them into Hungary, set up processing stations, put a priority on quick processing and get as many of the educated professionals on a plane to Canada as soon as possible. Which is why I'm saying in the long term, the solutions need to come from them and we will provide assistance. In the short term though, we need to get people out of there as ISIL rapes and murders anyone they please. Quote

This is one uninformed statement (and I don't use the real word your statement deserves out of respect for the board). There are a lot more Muslims (Shia, Yazidis, even Sunnis) killed by terrorist ISIS than Christians. Also hatred based on race, religion, color,.... is stupid and out of date now as the time of Nazi Germany is over and the hatred side lost. May I also remind you of Christian atrocities against Muslims as recent as 90's when Serbian Christians Massacred innocent Muslim civilians and raped and tortured in the name of Christianity not to mention a few decades before that when 6 million innocent Jews were massacred again in the name of Christianity by Christian Germans!!!. It's nowhere near as complicated or as old as you're suggesting. The west and it's right-wing conservatives in particular, have a lot to answer for when it comes to deliberately prevaricating for so long about the incredibly damaging effects of western interference in modern times, and I don't just mean since the end of the last couple of missions.
