SpankyMcFarland
A while back I got all the Floyd albums on iTunes and found the pre-Meddle stuff a lot harder to get into.
Hal 9000
Very good choices. Really, I'll give him houses of the holy, but the Tea party? In utero? Legend is a greatest hits album and doesn't count. American Idiot is fine - I suppose.

WestCoastRunner
I'm thinking of going back to vinyl listening. Is there much of a selection of vinyl for newer music? Anyone know? Of course to listen to everyone's top 5 albums Edited May 28, 2016 by WestCoastRunner

American Idiot is actually least of my fave on that list.

Of course to listen to everyone's top 5 albums Increasingly yes. Our Barnes & Noble in White Plains, New York, United States has a good vinyl section. What I recommend is buying a record player at Best Buy or some place like it that plugs into a computer. That way you can digitalize your vinyl for listening on your iPhone or other device. In terms of Top 5 Albums I may have left out "Woodstock." It belongs in the Top Anything list. Edited May 30, 2016 by jbg

Guest
Wow, so hard to pick just 5, just attempting it for a few minutes has made my head hurt. So many great albums have been listed already, I'll add two of my favs that I can listen to over and over. Social Distortion - Live At The Roxy and The Dropkick Murphys - Blackout.
